Re: TVC-Ohio 2010
I would venture to guess that Newark Catholic and Ready will be too much for NY. If they beat Athens and go 8-2 they get in, lose to athens and 7-3 might not be enough.

Re: TVC-Hocking 2010
What, no votes for Miller? Haha. I remember goin to watch Maysville when they opened with Miller three or four years ago, when the ball was kicked off it was like a bomb went off. scored like the first five times they touched the ball and won 50 something to zero. That was the only game Maysville wo...
Re: MVL 2010
They picked up Lakewood for two reasons, 1. the only other team worth playing that called was Youngstown Ursaline (spelling?) and they are a DV private school power who is a mainstay in the state title game, winning it this season. So if you win, you beat a small school but you likely don't win so y...
Re: MVL 2010
Sheridan returns the majority of their 8-2 team. Should be very, very good next year. They don't really have anyone on the schedule that I think will test them (possibly Cambridge or TV?) which isn't good for playoff preparation.

Re: 12/11/09 Wellston Rockets Vs. Nelsonville-York Buckeyes
Watched New Lex scrimmage NY, was not impressed. They had some size but didn't really use it, wasn't a lot of basketball skill and the only kid who handled the ball well split time between the varsity and junior varsity. They also didn't seem very organized.

Re: Maysville at Warren 12/11
They have a new coach and play an uptempo/exciting style. They throttled Philo by 30 in their opener and were nice to them but Philo is terrible. Maysville starts 6'6 Sr Brandon Ray (led them with 20 and a few spectacular dunks) who is a freakish athlete. The other post starter is 6'8 Jr. JC Murasky...

Re: Vinton County vs. John Glenn @ The Convo 12/12
Watched JG the other night. Heagen is a freak athlete 6'4 guard who jumps out of the gym with a nice midrange game. They have another Junior, Lane Crawford who is a decent player. The other seven guys they put on the floor are not skilled bball players, they play a role, they are aggressive, physica...

Re: Southern VS Miller Dec. 4th
I'm a firm believer that after watching New Lex beat Miller literally by 100 points in a six quarter scrimmage that they won't come with in 30 of anyone. They are the worst team I've ever seen and there is no possible way any one league has two teams close to that bad.

Re: TVC Hocking 09-10
We (New Lex) scrimmaged Miller (for what reason I do not know) on Monday evening. The running score through six quarters was 118-18......thats not a typo. New Lex played everyone too. If Miller plays within 30 of anyone I will be surprised. I have seen some bad basketball teams but I'm not sure I've...

The BC and Elm coaches are excellent. Top two teams in the league.

Re: Muskingum Valley League
That sheridan team returned the next year almost in tact (99'-00') and took Cambridge to the wire in the regional. The MVL has very good athletes but has been down for a few years, it will cycle back up. Sheridan has an excellent group of talented players this year and none of them are seniors. All ...

Re: TVC-Ohio 09-10 Thoughts and Predictions
Had the chance to watch a middle of the pack in the mvl New Lex team scrimmage at Nelsonville the other night. If that team wins a game this year I'd hate to see who they beat, possibly Miller? Nelsonville was the most undisciplined group of kids I've ever witnessed on a bball court and their attitu...

Re: Gridiron Glory Player of the Year
I'm a Sheridan guy and as much as I hate to say this because I can't stand TV or their fans, Clay Cameron is without a doubt, hands down the most dominant football player we have seen all season. Angle is a distant second. Clay is an absolute beast, without him TV is lucky to win four games. He is b...

Re: Crooksville-A good fit for the TVC?
Not saying its a dumping ground, the schools are just more similar in size. Its hard for a school with less then 250 kids to compete against a school with 700-800.

Re: TVC-Hocking 2009
They need to go, the beatings they take in football and basketball against the much bigger MVL schools is not good for those kids.

Crooksville-A good fit for the TVC?
This is just to see what everyone on here thinks about this idea. People from Crooksville will likely never let it happen though it does make sense. The Ceramics are a small D5 in football, small D3 in basketball and baseball. They play in the MVL which is comprised of a D1, several D3, and a D4 sch...

Re: TVC-Hocking 2009
Any conference that Miller can win a game in has to be bad. I watched them play Maysville (the worst program I thought existed) and Maysville could have put 80 up on them. When the ball was kicked off it looked like a bomb went off. I have heard they have a much better coach now though. This the sam...

Re: Is basketball getting to physical?
Bloom-Carroll is one of the most successful D3 basketball programs in the state over the past 30 seasons. Their coach has had two losing seasons in 32 years (both times winning only 7 games). They play full court in your face man to man D. He and his assistant teach a physical and intense style that...

Re: Chillicothe 2009 opinions
I'm from Sheridan (coach at Lex in a different sport) and I watched both the varsity and JV games against the Generals last year. Chilli has some nice athletes but I saw little in the JV game to suggest they have a replacement for Knights. I wish we were playing you again this season. Chilli has som...

Re: Is basketball getting to physical?
Personally, I like physical play. I think it puts more emphasis on being a stronger athlete. Coaches are now forced to implement a strength and conditioning program if they want to compete. Basketball is a contact sport, no matter what anyone thinks. It is impossible to play the game without a littl...
