Re: SEOAL Finish
Ill tell ya, there is nowhere that is safe from the cuts. SEC schools have cut track for Title IX reasons. Without the various proposed amendments being passed to exclude football from the calculations, we are fighting an uphill battle. Womens teams are already carrying excess amounts of athletes in...

Re: Unioto's Galen Dills becomes a Buckeye!!!!
uhs_coach is right, most schools that do make a "profit" do so only with the help of money from the school and general fund. However, if you hold them responsible to the same degree that we hold a normal business and expect them to be self-sustaining then you will see that very few can mak...

Re: Unioto's Galen Dills becomes a Buckeye!!!!
Only a handful of football programs (5-6) actually turn a profit. The rest lose money, so despite popular thinking that is not the reason for the scholarship disparity. Basketball costs less, so maybe 3 times that many programs turn a profit in that sport. Overall, though, all these sports lose mone...

Re: River Valley Coach
I think he'll still be at that 300m mark during meets. The athletic stadium at River Valley should undergo some sort of name change in his honor. There has never been a coach I've met who has put in the time and effort for a high school team that coach did. He was always the first to arrive and the ...

Re: Word on RV basketball
Stout has accepted the job. I think this will be a good move to continue the success of the RV basketball program. Belpre was always competitive during his time. The only complaint that I can see is the JV coach not getting the internal look. I'm not sure what went on there, but from the perspective...

Re: South Webster Boys Track Team '08
I agree about Coach Grimm. I met him at a Chillicothe Paints game a couple years back, really nice guy. He has certainly done his part to help build up the sport of track and field in the area. Good luck to him and his squad.

A quick glance at the comments on here led me to believe that RV won. All's well that ends well. If you think that blaming the refs for a loss makes you look childish, then imagine someone who won complaining about them. Just shut up already. These kids don't hire refs, they didn't help out in the c...

The only possibility that moving to saturday would open up is that of teams not wishing to spend a long evening at a friday night meet. If there is a nearby meet on saturday of the same weekend, they could possibly seize some other teams in addition to those that are partial to the Rotaries in the f...

I didnt exclude the River Valley player from my discussion, if you remember I also postulated that he should have received some sort of warning or otherwise. I also never made any indictment on the actual words of the JV bench, as I could not hear what they said. My only point was that I saw them sa...

I hate to call out officials who subject themselves to mounds of criticism to facilitate these games. However, I cant hold my tongue. These guys mishandled that little 2nd half fiasco very poorly. First of all, Eastern had JV players stand up on the stage and spew off their mouths to River Valley pl...
