Re: 1/5/24 Wheelersburg @ SW

The Jeeps are off to a great start going 9-0 against teams from 8 different counties. Ironically, the next 2 games against 2 neighboring school districts in Scioto County will pose the biggest challenge of the season. I like the Jeeps vs Wheelersburg. Webster's size in Roberts/Timothy/Sommer will gi...

Re: DIV - Southeast District Tournament

But reaching, grabbing, bumping, moving the offensive player off their path are fouls. It wasn't from 1:00pm-2:30pm today at Waverly between Burg and Minford. Maybe I drove through some kind of wormhole on State Route 139 heading to Wellston and entered a dimension where "a foul isn't a foul&q...

Re: DIV - Southeast District Tournament

A foul is a foul. I think I get the point you're trying to make, but this is simply false. A foul is a subjective judgment call. I watched the Wheelersburg/Minford game 5 hours before I watched the Valley/Webster game. Two completely different worlds. One was an all-out physical war with about 20 t...

Re: South Webster 2013-2014

A few months ago I thought 5 regular season wins and 1 tournament win would make for a successful season, but this team and coaching staff have already surpassed my expectations. Not only have they won more games than anyone predicted, but they have also improved enough to force some competitive re-...

I thought Webster beat East by 34 on a neutral floor last season. I could be wrong.

Re: SOUTH WEBSTER vs FAIRFIELD CHRISTIAN (3/15) Regional Fin

frank-n-beans- I have seen Webster play plenty of times, and #24 consistently put this team on his back and carried it. It demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge of the game to criticize a kid who is probably one of the best 2-guards in the area, but plays out of position at the point for the goo...

Re: JEEP SQUAD????

svbt1112, I believe the series began with the 2002-2003 season. Webster won that meeting as well, so the count should be 6-3 in favor of the Jeeps.

Re: South Webster vs Manchester

Great post Jeep80. I completely agree. Everything after a district championship is icing on the cake for just about any team. At the regional level there really are no true upsets, so the Jeeps shouldn't feel a lot of pressure tonight. There is no reason to come out tight tonight because this team, ...

Re: Division IV District Player of the Year, Blevins or Cox?

Its no anomaly. This is Webster's 9th season in D-4. Why can't you just attribute Webster's success to great players like Connor or great coaches like Ater and Kreischer. You won't catch Burg or Oak Hill fans complaining about getting "robbed" by D-3 schools that are so much bigger. Real c...

Re: Division IV District Player of the Year, Blevins or Cox?

Are you serious? They "belong" where the enrollment numbers say they belong. Maybe Webster is highly thought of because they have only lost a handful of D-4 games in the last decade, have a state championship, technically 3 regional championships, and have had several 17+ win seasons while...

Great win on the road the night after an emotional rivalry game. These guys have to be drained! Nice win Jeeps.

I'm pretty sure last night's win gave the Jeeps a 5-4 edge all-time agaist Portsmouth, going back to when the series began in the 02-03 season.

Re: Personal thank you to the 2009-2010 South Webster Jeeps.

What a great season! Relative to expectations, this might have been the most successful basketball team South Webster has ever put on the floor. I enjoyed going to the games this year and am looking forward to next year already!

Re: Manchester vs Clay in sectional tourney 02-23-10

ok ok...its no big deal and I wasn't trying to make arrogant statements. Its just that it was a 15 point lead at the half after both teams played their normal rotations and I wondered why you thought the Jeeps wouldn't win by 30. I never was very good at math so I could be confused. Maybe with a lit...

Re: Manchester vs Clay in sectional tourney 02-23-10

halftime, the Jeeps were up by 7 after the first. They were up by 15 at the half. There really is no way of knowing, but I don't see how you can say that the Jeeps woulnd't have won by 30+ if this or that person had played. The Jeeps have played better in the second half all year, so I would say the...

Re: SOC I vs. SOC II

That doesn't make any sense.... "best possible scenario" is Webster beating Oak Hill and finishing in second place outright after another Waverly loss to Oak Hill. If you mean probable, then you got it right... I think either team could beat Oak Hill with a little luck. The Oaks play a slo...

Did Webster have some transfers come in or something? There sure are lots of 6th, 7th, and 8th place predictions on here for a team with a good chance of finishing 2nd.

Re: SOC I vs. SOC II

So nobody other than Swanker would put any of Webster's guys in the top 5-7 in the SOC? I think it says a lot about Webster's program to have a great chance of finishing 2nd in the league despite not having anyone even considered here. Webster's players deserve a lot of credit for buying in to Coach...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Oak Hill / Feb 19

Wow. So Webster and Waverly will tie for second in the SOC if Oak Hill wins out... Someone with some time on their hands should bump the "SOC II predictions" thread and see how everyone finished compared to expectations. Between that thread and the thread about the best players in the SOC,...
