Re: Oak Hill Declines TVC Offer: Remains in SOC
A lot of crazy stuff around OH with this one, looks like he’s still currently the coach however the Super wasn’t going to back him to the board to renew. Now it’s up to the board at the next meeting to make a decision. Depending on who you talk to the guy is either liked or disliked by the community...
Re: SOC2 2024
Figured it'd be more reason for Burg/Waverly to push SOC expansion to add bigger schools (Portsmouth and Ironton for starters). Maybe they both fine though with playing 4-5 D6 schools/year with the expanded playoffs, but don't see that schedule preparing them for deep playoff runs in D4/D5* Ironton...

Re: Ironton QB Edwards was at Elite 11 camp but where was Burgs Qb1?.👀
Rumors I heard about a week or so ago was that he quit. Several burg faithful made the comment he had been missing lifting and coming up with excuses. Coach called him out and he told them he quit and he had his dad’s permission. If true obviously he had already been talking about it before that ha...

Re: Oak Hill Declines TVC Offer: Remains in SOC
The Oak Hill Community had better push back hard on this one. The coach may not be perfect, but he has support and intent. Parents with kids who are 5 years away from having there kids playing football in Oak Hill had better STEP UP NOW. This dumpster fire has turned into an inferno! The funny thin...
Re: SOC2 2024
West probably stays D6 going forward from what I hear. There looks to be a slight drop in talent on the horizon from what I saw from their junior high last season, but they always going to be competitive regardless of numbers. Valley has a couple of big classes coming through and a few more transfe...

Re: Oak Hill Declines TVC Offer: Remains in SOC
Superintendent has butted heads with administrators or coaches at every place he’s been at. Made tougher now that he is the big dog administrator. Dumpster fire for sure how many coaches now over the last 4 years?? 3? The issue goes farther than just coaches

Re: Oak Hill Declines TVC Offer: Remains in SOC
Man there is a lot going on here for this thread to just stop!!! Any new news? Not sure if it ended up happening or not but there was talks of having a big meeting with schools, coach, parents, etc. before the final determination. No idea if it happened or where they went with it. Interesting thoug...

Well Jackson would be gone so I'm sure they'd be ok with it at that point. All tho...

Re: Oak Hill Declines TVC Offer: Remains in SOC
I hadn’t seen anything about the whole tvc/soc thing outside of this forum so idk if that even had anything to do with his job. It was, just heard from some sources that superintendent and coach were butting heads on things. Apparently the coach was pushing the TVC move and after talks with super a...

Re: Oak Hill Declines TVC Offer: Remains in SOC
Oh my, what a mess. Here’s what I’m trying to figure out though what was the coach wanting?? Independent wasn’t going to work especially if you’re looking at all sports. They wanted the TVC now I haven’t heard what OH has decided since the SOC decision but to me the TVC move is a no brainer. The SOC...

Re: Oak Hill Declines TVC Offer: Remains in SOC
Oak Hill absolutely finessed the TVC and SOC!!  I don’t know what the plan for Oak Hill was but they are still in the same spot as they were when they started talking to the TVC. All of the 3 divisions in football is still just talk. They still are with the 3 Ws and will be unless they g...

Re: Oak Hill Declines TVC Offer: Remains in SOC
According to the enrollment numbers on the OHSAA website Minford, Northwest and Oakhill all have more male students than West. West still competes with the likes of Waverly and Wheelersburg so I don't understand Oakhill and Northwest not wanting to play in the SOC as it is now. West has a really go...

Re: Oak Hill Declines TVC Offer: Remains in SOC
So basically Oak Hill only applied to TVC to get SOC to fold to their demands? Well played Oak Hill, well played.* Sounds like that may have been the plan! 😆 You had them and Northwest crying over the same thing. I don’t blame them at all but seems like they put the cart before the horse in this sc...

Re: *Breaking* TVC Accepts Oak Hill (OH BOE to Vote)
I heard that if they went to 3 divisions then the 2 bigger divisions would play 2 crossovers with each other to get 5 games set for weeks 6-10. Not ideal but it solves some scheduling problems. Yeah I figured they’d be doing crossovers but are they going to force the crossover is the thing?? OH and...

Re: *Breaking* TVC Accepts Oak Hill (OH BOE to Vote)
This is an opportunity for the SOC to do what has been talked about on these forums for years! Send out a ton of invites and see how many bite. Ports. , Fairland, Gallia, RV, Wellston, Rock Hill, Etc.... If 2 , 3 or more take the invite then it's a perfect thing.... Expansion is GOOD! Kind of like ...

Re: *Breaking* TVC Accepts Oak Hill (OH BOE to Vote)
Portsmouth? I doubt it, biggest question is going to be what team will leave their league to go to a 4 team conference?? Ironton is currently independent I think they’d join but does west and Waverly want that lol. Greenfield wants out of FAC as does Hillsboro. There’s no date that can be set given...
