Ironton is the real deal.
By far the toughest team that we saw this year.
Good luck to the Tigers next week.

Re: Warren Warriors 09-10
Pfloyd: The scrimmage with Athens is at Warren and begins at 6:00 p.m.
I hope you can make it.
Has Maddox had the opportunity to show his "appreciation" to you for naming the Warriors as a top program this season?

Re: Warren Warriors 09-10
I got to see the first couple varsity quarters before heading to the concession stand. Warren was just too much for N-Y. In the first quarter Warren scored 20+ and N-Y had something like 5 points. I think most of the quarters went that way. JVs rolled too. Don't know about the Frosh. N-Y had some si...

Re: Warren Warriors 09-10
Ellenwood's wrist is not broken, nor do the tendons seem to be damaged. It will be a while before he is pain free, but he starts practice tomorrow. Thanks for the kind comments. He gets to play.

Re: Warren Warriors 09-10
Ellenwood will actually find out next Thursday whether his wrist is really broken or not. They can't make a definitive diagnosis for 10 days after the injury. If it is, the particular bone that is involved takes 10-12 weeks to heal, so he would basically miss the season. To say that he has not had t...

Re: Ironton @ Warren
Although the field has actually been holding up pretty well, with the rain yesterday and last night, and the rain that is called for on Friday, I'm afraid that the field conditions may be pretty bad for the game. The field could dry out some tomorrow if it is indeed partly cloudy and in the high 60s...

Re: My SEOAL rankings preseason '09
IMO it doesn't mean much when all the teams still aren't playing each other. Warren didn't play Jackson or Gallia. Would have been much more interesting if they had. The three teams that are really struggling this season are Marietta, Gallia & Chilli. Did anyone play all three as league contests?

Re: SEOAL (1-7) Chillicothe @ (6-2) Warren
Vegas: Warren didn't know. The kids had been working hard, but no one could predict that things would come together like they have. It has a lot to do with coaching too. This season could very easily have been a lot more like last season. These players created greater potential by working harder, th...

Logan was up 31-7 when the starting defense came out of the game.
If that is unimpressive, I'll take it every time out.
I'm pretty sure the starters went back in . . .

Re: 7-0 Logan at 6-1 Warren
Warren did a good job preparing for Logan. I thought the defense they installed for Logan worked very well. Warren did a great job against the run, and managed to get a little pressure on Angle from time-to-time. The plays that hurt Warren were play action pass plays that gave Logan receivers a step...

Re: 7-0 Logan at 6-1 Warren
This is a "yardstick" game for Warren. They will get to measure themselves against one of the top D2 teams in the state. This is the first time in a long, long, long (you get the idea) time that Warren has the potential to play a competitive game against Logan. If Warren plays to their pot...

This game will tell a lot about both teams. Is Jackson that good, or is Ironton just a middle of the road SEOAL team this season?
I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.
Good luck to both teams.

Re: TVC-Ohio Bishop Rosecrans (4-1) @ Belpre (0-6)
The next couple weeks are real opportunities for Belpre to get their first win. Bishop Rosecrans has won games, but they have been against losing teams and have not been blow-outs. Vinton is really struggling too.
Good luck to Belpre! Get that first win!
(Warren sure could use the points!!)

Warren Warrior Football: Winning Season
The season is by no means over, but I thought it was appropriate to acknowledge a bit of a milestone for the Warren football program . . . a winning season. Friday's victory over Meigs locks-up Warren's first winning season in this decade (and century!). Lots of folks have put a bunch of work into t...

Re: Joe Eitel vs. OHSAA Stats??
Tobias, thanks so much for this response. I'll chew on it a bit . . . So, I see why this would result in differences during the season. But, what happens if a team plays an out of state team that has a bye during the season and does not play the 10th game of their season until after Ohio's regular s...
