Wasn't Fed Hock's Ron Dunfee a state champ in the 2 mile in '74 or '75?

Re: Wins and Losses-Warren is 84-0, and counting.
Concerning the Warren Track Banquet last night, I was impressed that Mrs. Maddox seemed to know all her girls personally and had positive things to say about each one. It would have been interesting to know how many of the seniors were part of the inaugural Junior High Track program as 7th graders i...

Re: Gahs4ever WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
Close was DQ'd in 100H for wearing a wristband. I don't understand why coaches aren't lecturing on these items all week, if not all season. These girls are an obvious superior talent and risk blowing it all over goofy fundamental violations. I hope they watch their zones in the 4x2 this Saturday, es...

Re: Regionals
Not a bad start unless you're a sprinter. The boys relays seem to go down in the same order every year, and the competition is relentless. Even with no Chilli, Wheelersburg, (DQ'd) and a Proctorville scratch, we still couldn't get it done in the 4x2. It's the same disadvantage for everybody, but I k...

Directions to Herrnstein Field... Take 35W to the High Street exit. Turn left and go thru 3 lights. At the 4th light (sort of a "Y") turn onto Arch street and go thru one Stop sign. At the next Stop Light, turn right onto Vine Street then left behind JA Smith Middle School. Usually plenty ...

Re: Morgan Invitational 5/3/08
Sounds like another day at the office for the distance guys, but are there any results for the rest of the team? Winning times for Dunfee, Wunderlich, etc..? No article in the P-burg news, as usual.

Cox has improved mightily in one year. Last season, there were some meets in which he didn't even qualify to compete. Now he's tearing it up in Pole Vault and 110HH.

Re: Nelson/York Meet 04/15/08
warrnwarriorfan, I've studied the body types of sprinters for over 10 years, and have concluded that there is no ideal prototype. It's not like evaluating race horses, they come in all shapes and sizes with no rhyme or reason whatsoever. As for losing muscle mass, Andrew Wunderlich is tall and quite...

Re: Nelson/York Meet 04/15/08
Wunderlich hasn't been hiding. He sort of came from nowhere last year and did a great job for Warren. It still looks like Dunfee hasn't come back to his first year at the varsity level. He really shined as a freshman. Logan is young and they are really hanging in there with all their youth. Dunfee i...

Where is Kelsie (sp?) Alfred for the Warren Girls?
She was a 5 foot High Jumper, good hurdler and runner.

Re: Best Distance Runners in TVC History???
The Messenger was good about publishing results back in the day. Coach k, if you come up with any VC-FH results from 1980-'83, I would be interested as well. I remember some exciting meet-deciding races in the 4x4. (or the "Mile Relay"as it was then) I wouldn't know Ron Dunfee if I saw him...

Re: Best Distance Runners in TVC History???
No one around here that I know of has ever matched Ron Dunfee's 2 Mi / 3200 time of 9:17 / 9:19. That was in 1974-'75. His 4:34 mile was phenomenal at the time, but more common now.
