Re: TVC 2008

Coach k, I only have handwritten results of the 2004 JR Ogg meet at Fed Hock, and only for the largest scoring boys running events. My notes say, "[i]68 deg., non-stop rain 400-1000pm...HJ cancelled.. The track was puddled and times were slow...hard asphalt, no spikes.. We won the 400, 800, 160...

Re: TVC 2008

Four years ago, Belpre had an 8th / Jr High 4x400 relay team that was listed in The Parkersburg News Wood County Championship meet results with a time of about 4:00. Warren's JH 4x400 Boys were undefeated SEOAL champions with a school record time of 4:04. The two teams never competed head-to-head. W...

Re: Unioto 4-1

With Warren being strong in 15 events it shouldn't be too much competion. Warren didn't really graduate too much off last years team. Only graduated two consistent scorers, but they were big points. Justin Francisco 110HH, Zach Bollinger LJ, 300H, 4x2, 4x4.... I haven't heard much about practices y...

Re: Warren Warrior Football 2008

I've talked to coach pifer and he wants to run the spread this year. last year they tried running the ball a lot and running it straight up the gut. obviously it didnt work. warren just doesnt have the size to do that against 250 lb + lineman on the other side of the ball. consequently warren needs...

I'm getting worried that a couple of key guys at Warren may be changing their mind.

Re: Marietta Meet

What was Warren's time? What time of day did they run?
I know Cantley played in a basketball tourney...may have been a little tired.

noreply, Dunfee was one of our speed guys watching helplessly from the sideline during some of the most critical of "long throws"...Much like Oliver's role as spectator when we blew our lead in the Jackson game. Some of the subbing and personnel selection back there was mindless. When they...

If Warren would put some speed guys at DB to match Marietta's sprinting WR's stride for stride, there would be no melt-down blowout.

runhallerun, One of those head-knocker dad's you are probably talking about was Josh and Jared Hall's dad. Problem with that style of play is, when we were trying to catch a pass in the end-zone at Logan and Gallia, a helmet-to-the-ribcage while the ball was in the air was a no-call. But, when Sebri...

Excellent post warriiorfan ! Halle nailed it as well with " football was king then...it is not now ." Warren continues to have some of the most talented athletes in the area, but football is no longer a priority for them. It is not only due to the program being "down", but with n...

What "controversy" at Warren? I think Devol left Warren because he knew the size and talent of the athletes was on a downward gliding path, but very much on the up at South. That was his choice, but alot of us will always wonder if he could have prevented the breakdown of a program that is...

I think the transition from yards to meters was done between my Freshman and Sophomore years.
I remember some meets where the "440" wasn't even ran in lanes...You could cut in on the back stretch! That was wild.

Up by about 30 and Devon Washington still isn't allowed off the bench?

Nice to know little has changed regarding the treatment of certain players

by this system.

The last time I was at Nelsonville's track was to to compete against Mike Hotel in the 400 in the early 80's. All I remember was the dirt track being so dry that day the runners made quite a cloud of dust.
Sounds great. Can't wait to see the new facility.

Cantley would have to be fresh (no 1600) to have any shot at beating Carter. I'd say Tyler is capable of an open 1:54. Carter was a no show last year anyway. Wilson and Richards' 2nd and 3rd in the 3200 will out-point Marietta and Logan. Hypothetically, Cantley could beat Wieferich in the 3200 if we...

noreply66, I like your analogy regarding Warren Boy's '04 JH Team being dominant at League. That was one of those days where everything went perfect,...even the weather. (Expect buckets of rain at Athens this spring!) We only lose two scoring seniors from last year in Bollinger and Francisco, but re...
