Congrats to Anthony Hitchens

Anthony Hitchens and the Akron Zips won the MAC tournament by beating Buffalo 65-53 in the championship game. Hitchens wasn't expected to play because of a sprained left ankle that he suffered during the quarterfinals. However, he was a key contributor off the bench, scoring 10 points in 14 minutes....

Heath Hinton is struggling at Marion Harding. Maybe the former Wellston head coach will join the other side of the 8-mile rivalry. :122249

Documentary about Southeast Ohio Basketball Team

On November 26 at 8 p.m., a documentary about the Waterloo Wonders will air on WOUB (PBS affiliate). If you don't already know, the Wonders won the 1934 and 1935 state championships with a creative style of basketball. It is truely a remarkable story. Re: Round 2 (11-0) Sheridan vs. (10-1) Eastmoor at DeSales

I look at Sheridan's last few games, they had difficulty with NL at home. Let's wait and see. Are you seriously dogging the Generals because of a 7-0 win over New Lex? First, they played in the pouring rain and, thus, sloppy conditions. Second, they played a 9-0 state-ranked team that has one of th...

Re: Round 2 (11-0) Sheridan vs. (10-1) Eastmoor at DeSales

Generals win because of better coaching, better fundamentals and being less likely to cave in at the first sight of adversity. Agreed. I would add "more discipline" to that list. Eastmoor played my hometown team a couple of years ago and jumped on the midfield logo before the game. After ...

Re: Round 2 (11-0) Louisville vs. (11-0) Logan At ZANESVILLE

Too close to call. I know the legend of Louisville but I also heard they don't like to play defense. They prefer to outscore the opponent. I'm just wondering what will happen when someone punches them in the mouth with a tough defense. Well, you heard wrong. The Leopard defense posted three shutout...

There is no place between chilli and logan elm with turf. to get somewhere big enough and with turf you are talking going to C-bus or somewhere further south. teays is as good of place as any for this game. I look for this game to be a good pickaway county V ross county game. Your right, there's no...

Re: Wins Don't Always Guarantee Playoff Appearnces

We've had 5-5 teams win state titles in Ohio (I'm pretty sure). Here are the 6-4 and 5-5 teams that have made it to the state championship since 2000. In 2005, Columbus St. Francis DeSales made it in with a 6-4 record and finished as the Division III State Runner-up. In 2003, Cleveland VASJ made it...
