Right didn’t want them to practice their show at half time, therefore denying them the opportunity to practice in front of a crowd and a good surface. Also others have said the new director was a show band director not a competition band director so they could not compete. Think OUs band, dancing and all not marching formations.

Band wasn’t cut, the band director left, he was replaced with a guy that some of the band members didn’t care for. Not so sure about this statement. They won the State Title in D4 in 1989.

Don’t want to highjack the Burg thread so I started a OVC 2019 topic for you. I honestly don’t know enough about what everyone else has coming back besides Portsmouth and Ironton, hopefully someone else can fill us in some more.

I would think with what they have returning, Ironton should be the favorite. Portsmouth with Taylon Parker and a good group of skilled guys should be close, will need to break in linemen on both sides of the ball though.
