So this “meeting” is during the Varsity basketball game and is also This is also the night of the Athletic Hall of Fame induction during the basketball game. Inductee’s Doug Booth, Jim Picklesimer, Dean Schuler, and Beth (Sammons) Coriell. Y’all REALLLY don’t want the Valley community to know what’...

Re: End of an Era at Valley.......

I have expressed my feelings on things and I am sure I ruffled a feather or two. That's fine. I don't care. I have nothing personally against the other candidate. I do not know him. Just to stop all the speculation and private messages, the other finalist is Tyler Evans. Evans went to West (I am 95...

Head Coaching Records at River Valley: Jack James: 10-21 Merrill Tripplett: 10-20 Larry Carter: 0-40 Gregg Deel: 16-46 Jared McClellan: 5-25 Jerrod Sparling: 25-45 Those are some really good coaches who have succeeded elsewhere, especially Deel, James, and Triplett. The schedule is much easier now ...

Re: Winningest Coaches

My point was. You could wind up one day with a coach having well over 400 career wins by the time they retire. Not only do they have more opportunities to get more wins with the generous playoff pairings, the first playoff games are cupcakes for the better programs. Man, when you entered the playof...

Re: West at BURG

Really thought West would make this game closer. I still think they have some solid pieces for next 2-3 years, but felt like this season was underwhelming for them. Of course, not having any home games had to contribute to it. Phenomenal coaching job this year by Woodward and staff. “Down year” equ...

Re: COACH OF THE YEAR

It has to be the guy from Cincy Oak Hills. He led his team to the playoffs with a 0-10 record. I've never seen that feat accomplished before! Their Head Coach led East Central (Ind) to a state title and runner-up. Was also the Coach of the Year there. Wonder if he forgot how to coach? Or does havin...

Re: West at BURG

Thanks for the clarification. I haven't lived on the Side for many years or Scioto County for that matter. I try to keep up online and YouTube. It should be a good ballgame. Hope so! I anticipate Burg winning by a few scores, but I long for days when the game was a toss up every year. We have some ...

Re: West at BURG

You sure can beat the rest but you can't beat WEST! The West Side is the Best Side! I think West has a good shot this week of going home with a win. They just have to play good football for 4 quarters with no turnovers. On the other hand, I have watched the Burg improve every week. It's like Coach ...

Re: Minford@Portsmouth West

Minford seems to be playing well right now. Defensively they are going to make it very hard for West to maintain long drives. I can see West hitting a big play or two, but Minford's defense is going to be hard for West to run against. Turnovers killed what should have been a big win over a very goo...

Dick tipton is the greatest head coach West has had. He was 136-56 in 19 seasons. During his time West won 6 league titles, 2 playoff appearances, and 1 undefeated season.
