Re: Vincent Warren Local Warriors 08-09
All of us are certainly enjoying football season, but the truth is, hoops is just around the corner. Open gym has started at most schools for athletes not in a fall sport. The annual Ohio Basketball Coaches Clinic is Sunday, Monday in Columbus. This years line up is a good one. Coach Jim Burson, Jef...

Re: WK 6 Meigs @ Warren
I think the WARRIORS take care of business at home tomorrow night. What I do know about the Warren team is that they are very coachable and they make an effort to do what is being asked of them. I know that many players have made sacrifices for the betterment of the team. I am sure that this is bein...

Re: Week Four: Warren (2-1) at Marietta (0-3)
BIG GAME THIS WEEK. I think this game will be like many games at the high school level. It will come down to winning the line of scrimmage. Fundamentals, Discipline in blocking assignments, heart and desire, toughness, physical play in a cross county game, etc. will be the factors. Both teams have p...

Re: New Ejection penalty for Coaches
It's probably not right for me to add my opinion, but I do have a few comments. I am not a teacher, but I have been blessed to work with some outstanding people for the last 21 years coaching basketball at various levels. I was also a reistered basketball official for 4 years in Ohio and WVa. I thou...

Re: Warren Local Basketball 2008-2009
I viewed some open gym yesterday at the High School. It was nice to see some 8th graders coming in to play. 90 % of the summer schedule was handed out in late February. This was done as early as possible to allow families to hopefully schedule vacations, other camps, etc. around the basketball dates...

Looking for Jr. High shoot-outs for June and July
We are looking for Jr. High shootouts for the month of June and July. If anybody knows of a school hosting one, could you please post them here. The "Little General" at Barlow/Vincent will be in touch with you.

Re: Warren Local vs Logan Elm
This forum is great for scores and comments and updates on teams in SE Ohio. Unfortunately it can also be negative and can really hurt kids and families who have put years of work into their game and who have strived for excellence. Just like I did in person at the lockeroom ( and just like we have ...

Tickets at the Sutton gym
As per my conversation with the school this afternoon, no tickets will be sold until tomorrow. These will be walk up sales, first come first serve. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. My personal feeling is, tickets will not be a problem, but they do have less seats and it is Marietta / Warren. There has been t...

I think Marietta is 1-2 having lost to Cambridge and Zanesville on the road, and defeating Caldwell at home. Records never seem to matter in the Washinton County games. The Tigers beat the Warriors twice last year. Hooper was hit hard in the Fort Frye game going in for a lay up and has a back injury...
