Re: 12/12 Scores and updates

Good post oldschool. I can see #25 for Waverly starting next game as he showed a lot of poise for just being a freshman as a parent behind me quoted. Has anyone heard anything about the Miller boy , for Minford, who hit the floor hard and never returned. This kid has turned his game 180 degrees fro...

Re: 12/12 Scores and updates

Minford wins at home vs Waverly 78-54. Looked a little flat in first half and led by 1. Seemed a little more energetic in 2nd half and pulled away. Pretty balanced scoring with Rowe with 17, Kelly and Guillion with 14 and Shepherd with 12. I didn't see flat; I saw lack of teamwork in first half; to...

Re: Waverly is at Minford Tonight

Minford 78-54; tale of two halves. Waverly kept it close in first half or better said Minford let them keep it close....too many one pass or no pass shots in first half. Too many threes; no inside to out. Second half Minford finally went inside and got Waverly post men in foul trouble. Had several n...

Re: TOP PLAYERS IN S.O.C. 1 & 2

And again as I stated only my opinion which is based on many years playing and coaching the game; some people have listed some kids from Eastern and many years ago Eastern had an outstanding team with King, Nance, Howard, I believe Leist, and others. Although he's probably one of the all-time leadin...

Re: TOP PLAYERS IN S.O.C. 1 & 2

Won't spout my credentials and I'm sure you're right, just a little sensitive but again that's why I chose "oldschool" because apparently I'm getting old!! Wasn't intending to attack you for the post just tired of seeing the selfish play on the hardcourt. But I can assure I've played at a ...

Re: TOP PLAYERS IN S.O.C. 1 & 2

How do you define who is a "TOP" player? No offense, but what qualifications do the voters need to have? Should we consider only the points they score as do most voters or should we consider their total ability or value to their team? And how do you define this? Are they a top player if th...

Re: SOC Previews at Northwest

Didn't get there to see ND/Oak Hill but I've said it many times: Matt Mader is one of the best coaches around. His teams always play unselfish basketball! I honestly believe he has taken many teams with limited basketball ability and won. And is always a class act on the sidelines. Doesn't have to s...
