Re: Homeruns

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ND is 195 LF , 196 CF and 194 RF . give or take a foot .. if 196 is "the shortest high school field you ever seen " then I guess your opinion of homers hit at UCLA , KY , Marshall and Georgia isnt very high . Dont know...

Re: Homeruns

First As I said in my post, Wellston is a fine team that beat the Trojans soundly. It was just a questions about how many homers were hit at home compared to away. I appreciated the answer softballjunkie, as for manitoudan there was no negative point or arguement to be made. Wellston hit 3 homers wh...

Re: Homeruns

Taking nothing away from a fine team in Wellston, but I would be interested to know how many were hit at home. That is the shortest high school field I've ever seen. Down the lines was only 196 and dead center was only 197. I talked to a few of the fans and they said a lot of the homers have been at...

Re: Final 4 Portsmouth vs Cleveland Central Catholic -3/25 @

14U It is 14 now that was just the results through 2010. I was just showing people that Portsmouth has always been known for great basketball around the state. They are now tied for 2nd all time in State Appearances with Middletown. We have a chance to move up a spot with 5 State Titles. These young...

Re: Chesapeake vs. Portsmouth - Regional Final - 3-19

WOW what a high school basketball game last night at the Convo. Both teams came to play and my hats off to them both. The kids from Cheseapeake really showed how tough they are never thinking they couldn't win. With 11 seconds left it looked as though their belief would come true. The boys from Port...

TROJANS GET WIN OVER CHESAPEAKE

The Trojans start the tournament in style with a 10 - 0 victory over Chesapeake. Josh Myers had a no hitter going in the the 5th before giving up the only hit for the Peake. Several Trojans hit the ball well, next up is Fairland on Friday for the Sectional Championship. Good Luck Trojans

Re: All league SEOAL

Don't know who all will make All SEOAL, but there is not doubt JR Josh Myers of Portsmouth is the POY. He had 14 consecutive hits third longest in Ohio High School history and a stretch of 19 for 21 I believe. He lead a team that only won 4 games last year to 15 wins this year along with being the a...

PORTSMOUTH SWEEP WOODEN BAT TOURNAMENT @ WEST

Trojans sweep the wooden bat tournament at West High School today. The first was a 2-1 victory over West Union on the back of a fine pitching performance by Sophomore Ryan Monroe. Ryan Monroe got the win on the mound with relief from Jeremy Scott. In the Second game the Trojans get the win 8-5 over ...

Re: Jackson Upsets Gallia Academy

Congrats to Jackson on a big win and congrats to Gallia on a great streak of wins versus the SEOAL SOUTH. I don't think those seniors for Gallia had lost an SEOAL SOUTH game in their careers. And gahs4ever you do a great job with your write ups on Gallia sports. I really enjoy reading and appreciate...

Re: Gallipolis sweeps twinbill from Portsmouth, 7-0, 11-7

Dingess is a fine athlete both in football and baseball. But, Myers is the head of the class in both of those sports. He was the SEOAL SOUTH POY in football and should repeat the samething in baseball. He's has to batting over .700 on the season and is currently on a streak of 13 straight hits. It's...

Re: Gallipolis sweeps twinbill from Portsmouth, 7-0, 11-7

LOOKS LIKE A LOT PEOPLE UNDER ESTIMATED GALLIA AND OVER ESTIMATED PORTSMOUTH. THATS WHY THE GAME IS TO BE PLAYED AND NOT TALKED ABOUT AND SPECULATED. YES I KNOW EVERYONE HAS HIGH EXPECTIONS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON AND THATS ALL RIGHT, THATS WHAT MAKES IT FUN, SO DREAM BIG , CHEER LOUD AND HA...

Re: A Lesson In Momentum

Congrat to the ladies of Gallia on the both wins. In the first game it was a 2-0 game in favor of Gallia after 4 innings and both of those were unearned runs. Even though the article makes it sound as though Gallia dominated they only had 2 earned runs in the first game. Hannah Foster matched Noe pi...

Re: Portsmouth @ Ironton DH (4/3)

Ironton 10 Portsmouth 9 How did Coach Tipton take that? I bet he was just a little vocal on that one!! Bases loaded for Portsmouth in the bottom of the 7th. The batter hit the catchers glove and knocked it off his hand injuring the catcher for a minute. Should have been catcher interference all run...
