We also remember this team in Vinton Co. country. If I'm not mistaken we traveled to Portsmouth that year with a very good team, lead by Mike Patterson, and lost by 18-20 points. Great team, that photo reminds me how old I'm getting!

What made this look worse was the fact that Vokoun was taken off the ice on a stretcher for a cut ear. The same night Rostislav Klesla suffered a torn groin and torn stomach muscle and made it off the ice on his feet with assistance. I understand that the medical staff may have ordered the stretcher...

I agree with earp. While I'd take Portsmouth as number 1 hands down, Greenfield McClain is one of the best teams in the Southeast district year in and year out.
