Someone mentioned the blue and gold Wellston. To me it looks like blue and yellow. Emphasis on the yellow. LOL Vikings as BIG in this one as they want to be. Coach will probably make plenty of PT available to his younger guys. They have absolutely no one to handle Guthrie and his moves inside. The R...

Buckeye96, Once again, Fort Frye was never in the TVC. The league formed in 1968 when Belpre, Fed-Hock, VC and Warren founded the league. TVC championships were awarded in all sports except FB in 68-69. Football could not be instituted immediately because of scheduling difficulties. The TVC baseball...

Army, Just a few corrections to your dissertation. In the 1971 FB season, Wellston defeated VC 52-6, not 72-6. In the 1972 season, VC won 6-0 over Rockets, not 7-0. During the 1974 and 1975 seasons, the Rocket asst. coach was Joe Duncan, not Bill Duncan. Let's keep our posts historically accurate. LOL

Isn't Coach Boston also the AD at N-Y?? If he is, then he has to bear some of the responsibility in this whole fiasco. I would think the AD would submit his eligibility forms to the Principal in as accurate condition as possible. The administrator really does not have time to check eligibilities. he...

So let me get this straight. N-Y win over Wellston is a forfeit win for Wellston. I think that makes the official score 2-0 in favor of Wellston. Please, anyone, correct me if that is wrong. Final TVC Ohio standings are as follows?? 4-1-0 Belpre 3-2-0 Meigs 3-2-0 N-York 3-2-0 VC 1-4-0 Alex 1-4-0 Wel...

2007 TVC All-Conference - Hocking Division
Here is everything that I have gathered thus far on this fine group of young men. ************************ Well sports fans, that just about does it. If anyone has the names of the honorees, I (and no doubt many others) would like to find out who was so honored this past season. I can't believe the...

Buckeye96, We have played you every year except in 1973 when VC was on strike. We only played four games that season. You will also note that we did in fact play N-Y on a Thursday (11/17) in 1977. The game was originally scheduled for 11/4 but your school was closed down on that date. I think N-Y di...

Buckeye96, Yearbooks are a good source to determine the opposition for a given year, but the scores are generally not always accurate. Verify everything with a second source and you will be a happy man with the finished product. I have so much stuff on the TVC that I am more than willing to share. I...

Buckeye96, In regards to the microfilm and geting distracted, I've been there and done that too. Staying focused is the greatest hurdle. Iwas at OU last Thu and Fri for about 5-6 hours each day and got a lot done but still have the problem of reading something interesting that catches my eye. Have y...

Buckeye96, I too saw the references to Fort Frye being a TVC member in the Messenger, but it was all due to a reporters misguided information. Check out the standings in the Messenger and the references to TVC records during that year. You will notice that no further reference is given to FF being a...

Army, TVC charter members were Belpre, Federal Hocking, Vinton County and Warren. The league formed in 1969. Nelsonville-York was admitted in 1970, Alexander in 1973, Trimble in 1978, Wellston in 1982, Meigs and Miller in 1983. Warren left in 1986. After Eastern and Southern were admitted in 1993, t...

Army, The SEOAL formed during its initial meeting on March 7, 1925. Schools represented at that first meeting included Athens, Gallipolis, Ironton, Jackson, Logan, Nelsonville, Oak Hill, Portsmouth and Wellston. All schools signed the new league's constitution to become charter members of the SEOAL ...
