Re: Ironton vs Ashland

has Ashland's enrollment been going down like Ironton and Portsmouth in recent years? back in my day (mid 70's) they were a beast. I think when ironton beat them in '77 it was the first time in 17 years. And i think they had 3 guys who were 6'10 or bigger, although that might have been 78 or 79. The...

Re: Will Logan no longer be the Chieftains?

with old man's cave so close, I'd go with the Logan Cavemen. and have a mascot look like the geiko caveman. It would be so funny and kinda cool. and by the way, the Logan "ImpeatchW's" would get much more support than impeachtheobama's.

In the years Ironton was not in the seoal, they have had a few state champions and guys who placed pretty h...

only watched gallia play a few times over the years. BUT, saw them play a Portsmouth team that was , unbeaten i think, in the early 80's disctrict? at Ironton. Phil King was a one man show and they nearly won because of him. Did he play in College?

I thought this was funny. I was talking to a guy originally from Logan, nice guy by the way, but we were talking football, He said he allways figured Ironton had allways been so good( except last couple years) because 'all the boys grow up working the mines' lol. living in chillicothe area for a lon...

yep, speed kills. Most years Ironton has as much or more speed than anybody. This year, less than about anybody. weird to watch them like this. supposed to be back next year i hear though.

ummm, speaking of 4 peats, I think in Ironton's last stint in the Seoal, from 68 to 84, they had a 6 peat and a 7-peat 71 to 76, and 78 to 84. or a 13 outta 14 peat. As for the present, they are still recovering from the whole Lutz retiring thing. Last year, the talent was better than average(from w...
