CG and Minford was a very hard hitting game last year and I am sure it will be agin this year. I disagree with the assessmnet on the call. Minford took a knee inside the 5 last year at the end of the game when they could have scored. I am glad Minford is playing at home in this game.

Burg will be fine. Having a below par performance in the first scrimmage can be a coaches friend.

Good point about scrimmages. They are just that a practice, and a time to work on some things.

Great Season

Lf your team is not in good shape going into two a days, your coaches have not done their off season job.

Actually, Minford lost all of their starting running backs, both tight ends, a split end, two guards and a tackle on offense. All are pretty big losses. However, I think there are replacements who are capable if they are willing.

How do you think you will do against Portsmouth, Rock Hill and South Point out of conference?

I don't know anything about River Valley so I am not going to predict the game, but I will say Minford has the potential to be very good this year in every measurable category. Will they? That's up to the players and two a days just started today.

My take: it is a scrimmage game.

I support Minford totally but Portsmouth and Ironton out of conference put Burg's schedule tougher than Minford's but I don't see that as a problem at this point in time. I didn't think you had to live in the district as long as it is the school you start in in the 9th grade. Is that right?

To digress a little, Minford's non conference schedule was not designed to be weak. In the last 10 years Wellston has been good, under Lucas Coal Grove is good. Piketon is a team on the rise, and Huntington Ross has typically won 4 to 5 games.

I like what Minford did last year. Burg's schedule last year was clearly more difficult although I am not so sure Ironton was a typical Ironton team last year.

Did they have two American Legion players told to choose between football and legion tournaments?

Reading between the lines, it sounds like Wests' football coach forced Bricker and Journey to quit. Is that correct?

I am sure the team will take it one game at a time. I'd also expect Coal Grove to have a very good team.
