Re: Aaron Hopper - Marietta Baseball
1st game scheduled for 1pm 7 innings and game 2 follows at approximately 4pm 9 innings. Hope you get to come up. If I hear of any changes I will pass them along. Should see Gasser in Game 1 I would guess. Marietta ranked #3 and stand at 21-2 on the season and 6-0 in the OAC. Just swept Ohio Northern...

Re: Aaron Hopper - Marietta Baseball
Thanks for the post 4th. Good day for Aaron. Better day for Gasser who threw Mariettas 20th NO-NO in school history. If we go back a few years, Gasser pitched against W'Burg in the Regional Semi when he played for Indian Valley. W'Burg won that game 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th inning. W'Burg went o...

Re: Etta Express Ranked #12
In case anyone is interested. I found the other day that the Marietta .vs. Capital DH (1-7, 1-9) scheduled on April 13th is supposed to be played at VA Memorial Stadium (all turf field) in Chillicothe. First pitch of game 1 is scheduled for 1pm. If you haven't watched a baseball game at this stadium...

Re: Etta Express Ranked #12
Closest if you call it that would be Wilmington. Play Otterbein in Columbus and Ohio Wesleyn in Delaware. Although Marietta is probably just about as close. 2 hours and an easy drive. Worth a visit to see Don Schaly Stadium. Very nice facility for a Div III complex. Marietta will be hosting the NCAA...

Re: Etta Express Ranked #12
Etta Express goes 7-1 in Port Charlotte, FL (10-1 on the season) and now ranked #8 in D3. The Pioneers swept a solid Carthage NY team in a DH on Saturday 3-2 and 5-4 in 14 innings. Marietta's own Evan Brockmeier with the win on the mound in the 14 inning dual going 3 innings. Brockmeier also had 2 h...

Re: Who has your teams home runs?
Wheelersburg's field dimensions are (approximate) LF 295' LCF 345' (deepest part of the park) CF 335' ??? RCF 330' ??? RF 290' Waverly's more close to a standard ball field I think. Anyone know the dimensions? Wheelersburg as a team hits alot of HR's every season but nearly half are at away parks. A...

The freshman class has a pretty solid group. I do not think any of the freshman will be on the varsity roster but will get plenty of playing time at JV.

Re: Jordan Russell of the burg makes JUCO watch list for draft
BULDOG, how is Aaron doing at Marietta? Do they play at Shawnee this spring? Aaron's doing great. Thanks for asking. Had a solid fall and should compete for time in the OF this spring. They head to Texas for their spring trip and open on March 5th in Memphis before spending the week in Abilene. Ret...

Re: American legion state baseball tournament
One also has to consider that there most likely would be no rain outs using Chilli VA memorial field. Last years regional was played there with both games of the final played in the off and on pouring rain. Only issue with the VA is the Paints would have to be scheduled away the entire week.

Re: we all know about roback and southworth but who else will?
Tyler Tackett of Piketon is looking to continue his career. He is also trying to run track and play football somewhere. Colleges I have heard are Baldwin Wallace and Marietta. Marietta has a very nice turf field and just recently received a donation to renovate their stadium seating. Also, nice cam...

Re: American legion state baseball tournament
I hope it stays in Athens county. That is one of my favorite things to do every year. I take a week off and watch baseball all day long. IMO, you can probably thank Coach Carbone for the move. A baseball field is meant to play baseball on and I'm sure the Legion pays big bucks to lease it for the w...

Who all is Wheelersburg returning this year? Wheelersburg returns all but 3 of the everyday starters. Elliott SS/P, Kemper 2b, Brandon Hall 3b, Leach C, Luster OF/P will be those returning with varsity experience. Others moving into possible starting roles will be O'Leary IF, Parsley OF, Bryce Hall...
