Re: Needed one or two more 4 or 5 position player 7th Grade

7th Grade, AAU has changed somewhat, you would have to go to the AAU website to verify ages, but I believe that cant' be older then 13 by September or something like that..Who team are you looking for Nature boy?

Re: best girls 4th 5th and 6th grade teams

Coal Grove did have a very nice team. I have a daughter that played for Ironton and her team was 0-4 against them. The problem with the lop-sided scores is that some of these "all star" teams just aren't very good. We had a couple of 25-0 or 30-2 games against some of these teams as well....

Re: best girls 4th 5th and 6th grade teams

Grovefan, wasnt knocking the your kids..Was just told the info that you were pressing and playing man to man..and when I was told the score 39-1, was easy to believe it..no slight towards your girls, I know that when kids get a steal or a easy shot they are going to go with it and that is what you w...

Re: best girls 4th 5th and 6th grade teams

Coal Grove can play no doubt about it, but when you are pressing and playing man to man on a 3rd grade team when you are blowing them out by 15+, what does it prove....especially when most tournys only give you a +13 for the win anyway..great bunch of players though, I haven't seen them play but hav...

Re: Oak Hill (23-0) vs. Minford (20-3) Reg. Semi Wed. 3-9 @

The big issue will be can Burton stay out of foul trouble? Who will Oak Hill turn to in the post for those points? Believe that this will come down to what unexpected player steps up for either team..we know the usual suspectes so to say..but watch out for someone stepping up..

Believe that the injury has hurt Oaks, I also believe that Minford is playing better defense and scoring better, they are peaking at the right time..Don't see a blow out here, see a tough game, I have Minford winning by 3, down the stretch..Let's go Falcons..

Re: Minford vs Lynchburg Clay?

The one thing I have learned is that the refs reward those players that attack the rim and are really trying to score, where some players at times go in looking for the foul first and throw it up, hopin for the foul. Sounds like one team looked for good shots, another was trying to get fouled and go...

Re: Southern Ohio Shooters TRYOUTS

Well there are some teams that play mainly GBA, or NAYS, OYB tournys..not all travel teams play in AAU Tournys..still if your kid is not ready and you bring him, they will develop through practicing with better talent, competing against better kids, but in the end if they dont work at it in the offs...

Re: Southern Ohio Shooters TRYOUTS

I believe our thinking is "yes", we are evaluation players three times this season. The beginning, middle and the end, in hopes that this will show parents of the improvement. I have coached for the last 4 yrs in this and see improvement buy those girls that truly work at it, even the tale...

Re: best girls 4th 5th and 6th grade teams

I would concur with that, especially with the shooter they have that stretches the D, but wonder what would happen if you match up man to man, the two games I saw, they were being played straight zone, the shooter on that team doesnt need much time or space, they are definitely one of the best..
