Re: 2024 OHSAA State Boys Basketball Attendance...End Of The Four Class Era

Obviously it's multi factorial for why attendance is down. I think not having games in Columbus turned people off, but I believe Dayton is a much better venue than the Schott ever was. Much more of a basketball environment, amazing parking, every seat is great. I think having games on Sunday has be...

Re: 2024 OHSAA State Boys Basketball Attendance...End Of The Four Class Era

It was fine. Probably never getting the Lebron type crowds, especially if the games are not in Columbus. Crowds in general are lower, especially with the prices going up and going cashless, which limits some of the population. Mr. Basketball had the best crowd, Maysville/Alter was very good as well....

Re: Scrimmage results

Unioto did well in their 3 scrimmages. Allowed 9 hits in 24 innings and scored a lot.

That’s over now and they’ll host Athens on Monday to see if they can keep it up.

District title secured. Now for the regional crown... The Big Bad Blue are comin for it all this year folks. One win away... and then the prophecy will come true... GO BIG BAD BLUE Gosh darn it I was close!! If the refs hadn't decided to take that one against Maysville into their own hands I would'...

Re: Seven Divisions Won't Change This Problem

Exactly, Let's look at the numbers at the state level, Higher tix prices of course.... Now 4 divisions = 16 Teams in the State Tournament Add 7 Divisions and that = 28 Teams in the State Tournament. 12 More teams = More $$$$$$$ More $$$$$$ It’s really just 14 teams, not 28, because they aren’t goin...

They lose a lot, but got a nice transfer already. Doesn’t seem like the most solid place with the admin though.
Who is the transfer, or at least from where?
Teays. Already enrolled.

Re: What Does Waverly Need To be a top team in the area next year?

Maybe over .500 next year, but it’s the year after that they should really start to see things pay off. I get that the Alexander kid is likely going to be special, but it’s really hard to step in as a freshman PG and make a massive impact immediately. That’s more likely to come after Christmas, but ...

Re: OHSAA Division II Final 4 - Fairland Lady Dragons (26-1) v. Laurel Gators (18-10)

Both Portsmouth AND Fairland should win state championships next year (‘24-‘25). With the seven division it will be much easier to finish the job. The only thing that can derails either one of them are injuries. We will start to see more and more state titles from the Southeast District with the ne...

Re: Regional Championship THE South Webster Jeeps vs Berlin Hiland

Someone texted me and asked me how Hiland won that game. I said I had no idea except I sensed it was mainly by depth and conditioning. I rewatched the game. Here is the deal - the first 12 minutes of the game, SW was amazing - clearly the better team. But go back and watch the last 4 min of the 2nd...

Re: Regional Championship THE South Webster Jeeps vs Berlin Hiland

SW’s players did not lose that game. Anyone who watched Webster all year long could have anticipated the ending of the game if they stuck to their usual strategy. You have a 17 point lead, and you blow it by trying to play stall ball. That was despicable. Embarrassing for Scioto County to be truthf...

Re: Regional Championship THE South Webster Jeeps vs Berlin Hiland

Webster was 13-16 at the line, including 10-12 from Roberts

Hiland was 3-5

Eli’s 2 missed FTs didn’t lose the game, like the referees didn’t really impact the game

The SE District is like 10-250 against Hiland…not sure if it’s even 10.

Really good game. Fairland had their chances but too many turnovers. Still, a much better performance than a year ago and I feel like it was a better indicator of how good they were than what they had shown before.

Russell is a fantastic player and will hopefully be able to build off of this.

Hall is remarkable. Fairland is playing really solid D on her and she’s scoring at will
