Re: Athens High School new field in the works?
"Fieldturf" has kind of become a generic term, though that is really an actual brand. There are many different companies out there who install this stuff. I can not advise y'all strongly enough to do your due diligence on your turf, including the product AND who's doing the installation. T...

Re: Week 8: Logan (2-5) AT Zanesville (6-1)
I believe our league schedule leaves Weeks 1-4 for non-conference play. Week 1 will remain Newark, and I think Licking Valley is still in place for Week 2. We played New Philadelphia Week 3 this year, but that will slide back into league play starting next year. I think Wheeling Park may be moving b...

Re: Week 8: Logan (2-5) AT Zanesville (6-1)
No doubt we're hard to figure. The easy out for more people is to decry the schedule. It is what it is. I think in one case we had a choice between one of these teams and St. Ignatius. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. :D The first half of a season usually isn't too difficult s...

Re: Week 8: Logan (2-5) AT Zanesville (6-1)
Newark Catholic is down this year, so we don't expect them to give LV much of a problem. This is the issue you have with scheduling as an independent, and it bit us last year, too. Park was always a team with a solid record. They won one game last year, and have won one game this year. Hillsboro was...

Re: Week 8: Logan (2-5) AT Zanesville (6-1)
Loganchiefsnation ... I reiterate ... we beat the best team we played. I'm sure you've at least heard of Licking Valley, correct? No way we should have lost to EL, but we did. But I guarantee you that LV's better than they are.

Re: Week 8: Logan (2-5) AT Zanesville (6-1)
Loganchiefsnation ... two words ... Licking Valley. East Liverpool isn't as good as them, but our young kids learned that day if you don't bring your A game, you can be beaten. We were up 17-6 starting the fourth quarter and let them off the hook.

Re: Week 8: Logan (2-5) AT Zanesville (6-1)
Y'all should see Park. A whole bunch of tremendous athletes, including some extra-tall receivers. But that may have been the most undisciplined team I've ever seen -- and I've seen many. Anyway, I don't worry about the stats and who's played who when these two play. I certainly hope something can be...

Re: Week 8: Logan (2-5) AT Zanesville (6-1)
Might also note that while our opponents' records haven't been all that glittering this year, it's not like any of the poor teams really stayed with us, either.
Should be a good game Friday. We expect nothing but Logan's best effort, as usual.

Re: Piketon Redstreaks 2010-11
Zanesville at Piketon on January 29th. Sounds like Coach Lisath is like Coach Aronhalt -- play the best teams you can find. Anybody can schedule wins, and many do. Our program is predicated on preparing our kids to excel at the highest level possible, and that includes prepping them to play at the n...

Re: OSU Coach Tom Ryan headlines ZHS Wrestling open house!
Yes. I met him over the summer and all he wanted to talk about was his science classes. His priorities are straight. But he's got a great plan to build this program, and I think he'll be successful given some time. We've always had a bunch of kids sitting idle (so to speak) during the winter months ...

OSU Coach Tom Ryan headlines ZHS Wrestling open house!
Ohio State wrestling coach Tom Ryan will help ZHS kick off its first season in 30+ years when he attends the Zanesville Wrestling Open House on Wednesday, October 6th. The event starts at 6 p.m. and will be held at the former Westview School, 2256 Dresden Road. This will be the Grand Opening of the ...

No save. And we have Maxwell with 5 innings if we need him on Friday. He'll be ready if he has to be. But I expect Hudson to be on point tomorrow. Devils play Lakewood, BTW.

Have seen Garaway. Very solid ball club. They make the routine plays, and that's very important. They'll be tough.

And Carpenter, our No. 3, would, too. Shoot, our 4 and 5 guys are darn good, too, but just don't get enough innings right now.
Anyway, looking forward to a good game tomorrow against a hot team. Man, you've GOT to love this stuff!

Re: Logan Elm vs. Zanesville - D2 Regional Semifinal
The one thing to always remember is this is a single-elimination tournament. One bad day ... heck, one bad INNING ... and things can change in a hurry. Once you get to this level, teams have had to have played some pretty consistent baseball in the postseason, and all are dangerous no matter what ki...

Zanesville seeks head wrestling coach
This is a great opportunity to build your own program, top to bottom. ZHS has not had a wrestling program since the late 1970s. The local PAL has been operating a wrestling program here, and there are some kids who have open-enrolled to surrounding districts for wrestling. ZHS will move into a BRAND...
