Re: Cassady Willford from Meigs Makes it to State!
I think it is hilarious that people are acting like it said he didn't belong at the State Meet. Obviously, he did b/c he beat the people he needed to be to get there. Maybe if posters on here could comprehend written word, they would see that the negative comments that I made on here were about the ...

Re: STEVEN MCLAUGHLIN STATE PLACER
Congrats!!!
I don't know much about the kid except he is a 145. Year? If a senior, what are his post-secondary plans?

Re: South Gallia 2008-09
When the talent and experience levels are down a little, it makes you feel good as a coach when you can see the kids grow both on the court/field and off the court/field as young men.

Re: Local players playing semi pro ball
I think Karl is serious. Most coaches encourage their basketball players to work on their shots in the off-season; so following that line of thought, I bet college football coaches feel the same way.

I am sorry I did not know that people could only say positive things on here.
wrestlefan: I never said that he should say that, but it would have at least been the truth.

Re: Cassady Willford from Meigs Makes it to State!
Coach: Just because you come on here, do you think I am going to change what I said/thought? If so, that is very narrow-minded. I know Cassidy is a good wrestler and I would loved to have looked at baumspage and seen him placing at state. I still believe that it was stupid to say what you did. That ...

Re: Local players playing semi pro ball
I don't know much about it. Let me see. Yellow Jackets, Coyotes, Lumberjacks, Cobras, and Titans come to mind when I think about that. How can you call it semi-pro? Either you get paid (which makes you a professional) or you don't (which makes you an amateur). You better be careful about playing col...

Semi-Pro Football is not much more than glorified backyard football.

Re: South Gallia 2008-09
How did they play together at the JV level?
If they didn't mesh well with each other then there may be a little bit of a 'getting to know how you play' period.
Of course everyone knows that I want all SG teams to win all of their games!

Re: Cassady Willford from Meigs Makes it to State!
By no means did I say tell the kid that he stands no chance!
And I agree that you should always encourage your kids.
Heidelberg also has wrestling which leaves him an option to pursue that as well.

Re: Has anything been done at River Valley?
I do think that this way is the norm at RV. I remember in between my Junior and Senior years that we didn't even see coach Triplett until June of 1995.

Re: Cassady Willford from Meigs Makes it to State!
I wanted him to do well. I was just saying that it was an unrealistic expectation. Of course coaches should talk their athletes up to a point, but to place at state you have to win at least twice. And a single win is an accomplishment in itself. i have talked to Cassidy before and I agree that he is...

Re: Cassady Willford from Meigs Makes it to State!
Willford got 4th at district right. Don't you think it was pretty arrogant for his coach to say that he had a good chance at placing at state? It was in the paper the other day. I wish Cassidy all the luck in the world but I just think his coach was a little stupid for saying that. I also wouldn't b...

Re: South Gallia Football 2008
It is hard to give an exact number. SG has an activity period where the majority of the kids are lifting (during school) , so those kids aren't seen at the stereotypical after-school weightlifting. But there are lots of kids lifting. SG has kids who are willing to work and and they are. It is not go...
