Re: Local AAU Basketball Team updates
Key Player 6th grade made it to the Elite 8 in the Hoosiers tourney in Indianapolis this past weekend. We were beaten in the first game of pool play by an excellent George Hill team out of Indy. They were unreal, and had beaten Ferrari out of Chicago by 20 earlier in the year (Ferrari made it to the...

Re: Local AAU Basketball Team updates
Goal,
It was pretty crazy. I know with about 1,000 teams competing in grades 2-11, it must be a nightmare to organize, but to have to play back to back across town was a little much.

Re: Local AAU Basketball Team updates
Key Player 6th grade went 2-1 at the King James Classic this past weekend. We were 2-0 in pool play (with a solid win vs. a Cleveland team that was 14-1 previously), winning both games by 16. After we finished our last pool play game at 4:30, we thought we were finished for the day, but were told at...

Re: OU vs UNC sweet 16
Poor D.J. couldnt' throw it in the ocean if he was wading in it! I was frustrated with some of his shots, too, but he's taken those all year...and it's a major reason why we were there in the first place. It looks like the Big 10 and Illinois is coming to rain on our parade, but hopefully whoever co...

Re: OU vs UNC sweet 16
So, even after the George Mason's, VCU's, and Butler's we've watched in recent memory...some still see this as unattainable. I don't get that. As was stated, UNC will probably "own the paint." But, you don't think South Florida owned the paint? We were working for our shots on the offensiv...

Floyd, after reading your post, I had goose bumps. I wish I could get on the floor I'm so pumped up (maybe a trip down on the defensive end before I needed oxygen)! Go Tigers...you can do this! We just have to play one possession at a time and continue playing as a TEAM!

An absolute classic! My son had a 6th grade game in Portsmouth...got there in the 2nd quarter. When I opened those gym doors, the Palace was electric! Both student sections were awesome, and the place was packed to the rafters! On the radio after the game, Kretzer said it well..."both teams bro...

Wow, the Ironmen (plus Superwoman 6th grade team was solid! They really play as a team. I was very impressed how every player knows his role, and the kids play hard. You can tell this group has played a lot of ball together. Mike Moore and Sweet Lou do a fantastic job!

How do you get to the old Portsmouth H.S.?
My son has a biddy league game at Portsmouth tonight, and they said it was in the old Portsmouth High School. Is that the gym across from the new football stadium? What street is than on, and what's the easiest way to get there coming from Waverly? Thanks.

Re: 2012 Newberry Sporting Goods Boys Basketball Tournament
Tobias, I figured that's who would end up in the championship. Although I didn't see Jackson, my friend's son plays on their squad and I saw them last year as 5th graders. After we lost to you guys in a good one, we beat Ashland that night. Then, we played at 10:00 Sunday and our boys never woke up ...

One, I guess I'm a Jeep tonight...whatever that is (sorry Indians, but we need the L), and two, how scary is it that Valley could and probably will be the #4 seed in that sectional? That's the strongest sectional I can remember!

13 year old looking for baseball team
My son plays in Waverly, and while their A-ball program is fairly organized, the pony league system is a joke. My little cousins played last year, and I think they might have played 5 games. I know most 13U teams have already had tryouts, but does anybody know of any openings? I know I'm his Dad, bu...
