I believe Governor-Elect is speaking of consolidating administrations of districts, not the actual physical districts. Building more buildings at this point - and asking for money to do it - is political suicide (especially from a Republican) and he knows it. The only talk of physical consolidations...

I think Kasich is considering only consolidating administration, school boards, etc. Physically consolidating the districts would be ridiculous considering the billions just spent on building new buildings, thus negating the "economy of scale" argument.

wobycat speaks the truth. Go to where the best small school football is played - the MAC - and you will not find football below the fifth grade. In fact, you will be hard-pressed to find football below seventh grade (St. Henry, for one, starts in seventh grade)...and they seem to be doing just fine....
