Re: Is Jackson Leaving SEOAL?

The only chance these schools have would be to invite a team or two from another conference to join them and not the other way around. Why not invite Waverly? Because, according to you, there is only one team that can compete with these schools on a yearly basis and that would be Wheelersburg. Why ...

Re: Waverly Football 2009

You are aware that Waverly runs the Spread Offense, right? I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess, "NO!" Bull rusher seems to be unaware of this fact, along with basic grammar, spelling, and sentence structure, How come if Waverly has a player that is this good of the D1 athelete th...

Re: The Official "Who's Next at Jackson Thread"

...get the program back to where it needs to be. What the heck does that mean? Jackson hasn't had the same level of talent across the board that they'd enjoyed over many of the past nearly two decades and they've played a tougher schedule. Coach Wolford didn't hurt that program a bit. Now this is w...

Re: Waverly Football 2009

They made alot of people baffled by how they went from 9 ppg in 2007, to around 35 ppg in 2008. Those baffled people must be people who don't know anything about football. Graduating eight of eleven starters did have an impact. We graduated everybody but the two outside linebackers and our free saf...

Re: EASTERN PIKE

Eastern only has 101 boys. Waverly has around 25% of the boys grades 9-12 playing football and that is at a school that has been playing football for close to 100 years, in a year following years with records of 11-1 and 10-2. If Eastern had the same percentage of their boys play they'd have about 2...

Re: Any of the local teams use the 3-3-5- defense

OVCfan32: If you look at my post again, the question I asked was, "Why would you drop eight against a pro-I?" I was wondering if it was being used that way as a prevent alignment. I didn't mean it was a defense that couldn't be used to defend a pro-I. Stopping dive and belly is about havin...

ends/OLB's Who are we talking about here? We call the two outside down guys on the LOS ends and our outside two linebackers "spur" and "bandit." Our ends are often "C" gap guys with spur and bandit reading EMLOS. You aren't going to seal 'em all! Defending spread sets ...

Re: Wisconsin plastered by Flo. State

BTW FSUfan, brag about the win all you want, but this wasn't a 11-1 or 10-2 Wisconsin team. This is a team that barely beat Cal-Poly, at home, at night, in order to become bowl eligible. It was a drill job though. It wasn't just an FSU win. They pounded Wisconsin the way a good team pounds a lesser...

Re: Piketons coaching staff next year.

Piketon has a quality person in Coach Gullion. He is a person of character and a fine football coach. Piketon could do MUCH worse. Best wishes to Tyler and his staff. Here's hoping you go 9-1 and only give up 50 points all season! Relax Piketonians. The 50 points thing is in reference to something C...

Re: Any of the local teams use the 3-3-5- defense

traps are easy to run against this defense...especially against upfield rushing ends/OLB. If the end/OLB stays back, then you kick it outside or roll out. If our ends or OLBs are rushing upfield they aren't doing what they are coached to do and will soon be standing beside me watching someone else ...
