Re: 2011-2012 SHL
I see it like this: Big school 1, Peebles. Well balanced and talented group. 2, North Adams. Returns most of their scoring with one of the top players in league. 3, Eastern Brown. Graduated a bunch of players but coaching will keep them competitive. 4, Lynchburg Clay. 2 talented post players. Guard ...

Re: The end of an era at North Adams
To me the most disturbing and maddening part of this is that a principle comes in from outside the area and decides to recommend non renewel on Coach Young's contract. Now that same principle has moved on to another job in another area. I would have hoped the school board would have considered what ...

Re: The end of an era at North Adams
That was a very good article. Coach Young should have been allowed to retire on his own terms. He has earned that right.

Re: Peebles Lady Indians 2011-2012
Peebles should be really good. They have size, guard play, and look to be a complete team. May still have some growing pains but I look for them to top their division in the SHL this year. North Adams may give them some problems but the rest of the big school side looks to be down some this year wit...

IMO private or parochial schools should not be in tournament with public schools or they all should have to be part of Division I.

Re: Manchester vs Harvest Prep
Perhaps I should have refrained from commenting on the officiating just based on what I heard. My apologies. Great effort by Manchester and again congratulations on a great tournament run.

Re: Manchester vs Harvest Prep
Maybe not Sparky but according to the radio they missed a HP player step out of bounds twice in the OT when Manchester was down by 1.

Congratulations on great season Greyhounds. Great effort by the players. Sounded like a less than stellar effort by the officials.

Re: South Webster vs Manchester
It continues to amaze me how many fans we ( Manchester) bring to a game!!!!!! I put 240 miles on my odometer tonight and am ready to do it again Friday ...... Now that Manchester is the only SHL and Adams county team left they are picking up fans from other county and SHL teams. I've seen blue shir...

Re: South Webster vs Manchester
Congratulations to Manchester. Sounded like Blevins really stepped up in the 2nd half. Really sounded like the whole team stepped up with several contributing key baskets in the 2nd half.

Re: 3/10 District Semi Southern vs Manchester
Southern looks a bit young and a bit undersized with no one apparently over 6'1". I would think Blevins would be able to take advantage of that inside, Combs to for that matter.

Re: SHL ALL League selections
Shayla should have been on it. That's the problem with all league teams. It can be political and there are always deserving players who get left off. Hard feelings are a result and that's not good for anyone.

Re: Oak Hill vs Zane Trace, District Finals
The only problem with Waverly is the parking and getting in and out of the parking lot. Socfan is correct though, the kids want the opportunity to play in the Convo.

Re: Best Team in your schools Modern History 1970-2011
The NA 05 team was good also. Finished 21-2 while the league was very good. Eastern was very good, along with Ripley, Whiteoak, Fairfield was pretty good, West Union had talent but that was about it. The only really bad team was peebles who was like 2-19. Sam Louden < Nathan Copas by whole alot Kra...

Re: Best Team in your schools Modern History 1970-2011
1996 North Adams team would top my list followed pretty closely by the 08-09 team led by one of the best players to come out of the SHL in Kraig Unger. The North Adams 96 team was a great team. The 08-09 NA team was very good, but the 96 team would have demolished them. IMO That would be a game to ...

Re: #4 Portsmouth West vs. #1 Eastern Brown 2/24 @ Waverly 6
Eastern Brown will be very tough to beat. They have good size with Christina Burns and they have perimeter players who can knock down outside shots. They are also very good defensively. I haven't seen Portsmouth West this year so I can't say how they match up.

Re: West Union's future???
West Union needs to get behind their teams win or lose. They are far behind the other county schools in fan support even though they are the largest school. When you don't even pull out the home section bleachers for a girls game and even then are outnumbered by the visitors it sends a bad message t...
