Re: Wellston @ Vinton County 12/16

VC is very sound defensively. I don't see them struggling with Wellston. It might be close for a while, but I see it stretching out to 15-20.

Re: manchester vs ripley

In the middle 80's you had: Perkins 6'8", Goodman 6'7", Quinn 6'6", Rose 6'2", Davis 6'1", Meyer 6'1", Jones 6'. That was probably one of the biggest teams you will ever have. I believe Peebles won the league that year. Manchester didn't have an answer for Copas. Rose g...

Re: Westerns varsity basketball job.

Is anyone surprised that they don't have people just standing in line for this job? (1) It's a very hard job to win at, due to the fact that it is one of the smallest and most rural schools in the area and talent is going to be very erratic. (2) It sounds like the parents have waaaaay too much influ...

Re: Westerns varsity basketball job.

Well, all I can say, is I hope the board and the people behind the firing of Coach Kight get what they deserve! The bad thing is, the kids are the ones that suffer! I will GUARANTEE the next coach will not work as hard and put in the time and effort as David Kight. Coach Jordan fought the system at ...

Re: Westerns varsity basketball job.

This school board sounds like the bumbling idiots that dismantled Jackson. Giving in to the parents and outside pressures of people that think they know the game! At the end of the day, measure the man by how hard he works and how his players respond. If the had expectations of winning as small and ...

Re: Chesapeake vs. Portsmouth - Regional Final - 3-19

I was talking to one of the Event Coordinators (James) last night at the game, and he said they were getting prepared for a ESPN2 video spot on "Ohio Basketball Tradition". Filming would start on the night of the DIII Regional Finals at the Convo. A match-up between Chesapeake and Portsmo...

Re: Chesapeake vs. Portsmouth - Regional Final - 3-19

I don't think you gonna see Peake blow a big lead like the last game. First I don't think they will see such a big lead and second, if they do, I don't think Coach Davis and the Panthers will take the foot off the throttle this time. I think he will stay aggressive. I believe they both learned a lot...

Re: South Webster vs Manchester

Their seemed to be a lid on the bucket for both teams in the first half, with both teams struggling. The obvious difference was Blevins hitting the 3's in the second, but I thought a big difference was rebounding. SW clearly out rebounded Manchester in the first half on the offensive and defensive b...

Re: Wheelersburg vs. Ironton - District Final - 3/12/11 5:00

I like Ironton's athleticism in this one, but the hard nosed defense and quality fundamentals of the Pirates will keep it real close. From an outsider I am really looking forward to this game. Should be a good physical game with two good teams and coaches.

Re: CHESAPEAKE VS. PIKETON (DISTRICT FINAL, 03/12, 7:00)

To anyone arguing Coach Lisaths ability to change, in his 7 years he has amassed 104 wins so far for an average of 14.8 wins per year. He has 2 SVC Championships 1 of which undefeated. 2 SVC runners up, 5 Sectional championships, 1 District and Regional Championship. You argue talent, yeah this yea...

Re: #1 Peebles vs. #4 Wheelersburg, 3/6 District Semi-Final

I cant see how you can say burg is more physical when the foul count was 24 to 6.I think #15 might have been taking the bus to Court Street when he Jordan-like tried to cup the ball and took 4 NBA steps twice in the last 3 minutes of the game especially in the last 15 seconds. That call has to be ma...

NDC SOCCER gets it. Those of you that are huge Piketon fans of all people should see what he and myself are trying to say. Piketon has had the luxury of being very talented during the tenure of Mr. Lisath. But....he has never been one to make many game time, side line changes. This isn't just comin...

Re: CHESAPEAKE VS. PIKETON (DISTRICT FINAL, 03/12, 7:00)

Piketon's game plan will be just like it has been all year. Run and gun, chase the ball. They continued to press Waverly in the Holiday Tournament which led to over half of the Tigers points in transition. You guys call it what you want, good coaching if you want. They press and press some more. Som...

Re: #1 Peebles vs. #4 Wheelersburg, 3/6 District Semi-Final

I was very disappointed in the defensive effort by Peebles. I've seen them twice now, and it just seemed to me they try to out score everybody. That's fine in league play, but you got to be able to do both in the tournaments. Great job by Barrick and the players for executing. Good luck.

Re: #1 Warren vs #7 Waverly (District semi-finals)

I think this will be a good game. Coach Maddux's teams are always physical and usually struggle to score in the past. But this year, they have to stud scorers and a very good supporting cast. I think the level of competition they played this year in the SEOAL will have them ready for the Tigers and ...

Re: D2 District Semifinal: Logan Elm 16-6 vs. Chillicothe 19

I watch plenty of MAC games, I've even been on recruiting trips. I hope he does get good offers, I love seeing the local kids get full rides and follow them. But when I watch him play, and then sit on the sideline and watch OU vs. Miami, or Kent or Eastern Michigan or Akron, I don't see who he guard...

Re: D2 District Semifinal: Logan Elm 16-6 vs. Chillicothe 19

One more thing and then it's from OU Chillicothe to Chipoltle lol... I hope that the big schools make a mistake by passing on London. That could lead to (Ohio University) Coach Groce to look at him as a potential recruit. The Convo itself is a great selling point, not to mention the fact that a sho...
