Re: Peake vs South Point Rd 3, Sectional Title Game
Sound is terrible...but as long as I keep hearing the Panthers in the lead, I won't complain!

Re: AAU BASKETBALL TEAMS
I see a lot of these AAU team tryouts for spring ball. Are there also AAU Fall Leagues....my son plays baseball in the spring and can't swing a baseball/basketball schedule at the same time. I'm looking for something that runs from around July/August through October...before MS ball picks up again. ...

Re: Southern Ohio Magic 7th and 8th grade boys and girls
Do you have any information on how the season plays out? Game days, length of season, etc. Is this for spring and summer only...Is there a fall season, before MS ball starts?

Nothing wrong with some friendly jabbing!
McMaster is 34. Sophomore, so he'll be around a couple more years. In fact, the 'Peake returns Kennedy, McMaster and Copley next year.

Re: Peake over South Point 2/19
Way to go 'Peake!! Couldn't make it tonight, so thanks for the update bucksfan.
I agree that to be a team 3 times when the talent is close is very difficult. Really wish the 'Peake would've drawn a different team!
But, until then....
OVC OVC OVC OVC OVC!

Re: OVC Middle School Tournament
As far as Fairland's 7th grade goes, the 'Peake knocked them out in the first round, so they weren't long for the tournament anyway. We were looking forward to the "rubber match" with South Point. Panthers were starting to believe they could make a run...and then it snowed...and snowed...i...

Re: Chesapeake vs. Fairland
OVC, you're right. Forgot about Hintz's brace. He was on crutches for the St. Joe game but played against South Point. Sure it isn't 100% yet though. And I agree the refs didn't ultimately impact the game, except to take Kennedy out of it...thought a couple of the calls against him were terrible and...

Re: When do cheerblocks go to far?
I think these are a fun part of the game and encourages students to display school spirit. Tonight at the Fairland/Chesapeake game, the Dragons were up big early and the Chesapeake side was just getting abused...in a tasteful way. We heard "Sit down, shut up", "Why so qui-et?!", ...

Re: Chesapeake vs. Fairland
Agreed on Bloomfield. He can really get off the floor and ate us alive on his drives to the basket. Missed a couple of bunnies at one point that helped us climb back in though. The timeout was a key moment, but still think Purple would've reigned ultimately. But ya never know. Went to school with Bl...

Re: OVC Middle School Tournament
Monday - Chesapeake vs. South Point 8th Grade Tuesday - Chesapeake vs. South Point 7th Grade Don't know about the other games. I'm assuming Coal Grove vs. Rock Hill for 7th grade and Fairland vs. Coal Grove for 8th grade. Is this right? The Chesy/S Point games could be good ones. Both grades split t...

Re: Chesapeake vs. Fairland
Panthers win 67-55!! McMaster had a big game leading all scorers with 20+, including a breakaway dunk, and Lindsey came off the bench and contributed some key points. To Fairland's credit they came out ready to go and out played Chesy until mid way of the second quarter. Had a lead of 31-19 at one p...

Re: Chesapeake vs. Fairland
The first meeting at the 'Peake, the Drag-ins started fast, but by the 4th quarter, the Panthers wore them down and won by around 15 I think. These boys want the OVC...I'm not sure about winning by 15, but the 'Peake will come home with a season sweep.

Re: 10 and 11 year old boys district tournament at Chesapeake
On behalf of the volunteers at Chesapeake, thanks for noticing the field conditions. There have been a handful of volunteers that have practically lived on that field for the last 3 weeks. Trying to get things ready for District and State, with 3 separate All Star teams trying to get practice time a...

Re: Boys 11-12 At Lucasville
Just wanted to say "Good Luck" to the Pointers. You boys have a solid team. Do Lawrence County proud! And to the Panthers...you made a good run this year. With seven starters coming back, if you will continue to work hard, you can win this district! But you have to want it and have to comm...

Re: 9-10 boys at wheelersburg
Chesapeake over Rock Hill, 10-0. Hansen pitched a great game, McComas came through with some key hits, and the Panther defense made several great plays. Way to rebound from a sub par outing on Saturday. Good job boys!! Must be time for our annual meeting with the Trojans! Chesapeake v. Portsmouth, F...

Re: Boys 11-12 At Lucasville
Good to see that Chapman has recovered from the bump on the head he got Friday. Also nice to see 3 Lawrence County teams in the final 4. And of course, the 'Burg usually plays a part in determining the District champ. The 'Peake has no preferences.. We know a lot of the boys playing for the Dragons....
