Re: OVC 2017

We're only six months away. What's everyone's take on the OVC this year? Last year was filled with parody, upsets, pitching showcases, and offensive outbursts. We should see more of the same this season. Gallia Academy: won the OVC in its inaugural season. Return some young pieces but lose the best...

Re: Sectional Tournament Seeds

That is a very true statement. Money drives decision making. Just looking at Gallia Academy, when the new school was built in 2009, the Eastman's donated money for the dugouts and general basics of the facility. But the hitting building, and all other improvments/upkeep of the complex is solely due ...

Re: OVC

Tonight is a big game for the boys from the French City. GA will be traveling to Rock hill tonight in hopes of earning the OVC crown. It has been an up and down year for the Blue, would love to see the boys get this one. Those seniors have put in the work and deserve a conference title. Let's hope t...

Re: OVC

This comment is a bit off topic, but it sure would be nice if there was a conference website. Not just for baseball. But an OVC site that kept up to date records and standing. Additionally, could post links to the local newspaper write ups. If I had even the slightest clue how to even start that pro...

Re: OVC

Anyone still playing with the bad weather that swept through the area last night?

I am told Gallia Academy will still be playing, as long as there is no additional rainfall.

Re: OVC

Oddly enough I am going to disagree with both of you. The blue devils are neither a good nor bad hitting team. I have not seen 1-9 hit in the same game. I have seen 1-4 hit well in a game, I have seen 5-9 hit well in a game, but never in the same game. The Blue Devil pitching staff is not dominant b...

Re: OVC

Blue Devils top Fairland with a final score of 12-2. Gallia Academy moves to 8-2 in OVC action.

Re: Scrimmages

Gallia Academy scrimmaged Southern last Tuesday. Southern did not throw their older pitchers. Blue Devils were in control of this one, not sure on actual score.

University of Rio Grande winter league.

Being a new coach in the area, I am trying to find a winter league that will provide an opportunity to get repetitions but I am not looking for something extremely demanding. Any of you SEOPers have any info on this league, or any others in the area? I am just looking for information. Thanks!

GAHS that was very informative. I don't know what it has to do with treating players with some respect though. This is a public forum to discuss opinions. No one has to agree with what anyone says. I have been around sports my whole life and I know from experience that coaching is a thankless job. H...

WOW! that was mature. More like Manure. ASS. Sometimes the truth hurts. I just hate to see good kids hurt, while others show themselves on the court, as well as off. Classy.

GAHS . After rereading your post I must comment on some of your remarks. #1 Yes a coach does owe dedicated seniors one of two things. Playing time, or an explanation of why they arent. #2 An underclassman has to be heads above a upperclassman before sitting them out. #3 A coach has the power to buil...

You are right - Seniors should be told they will not be getting playing time because a coach wants to build the program. Then the senior (or whoever) can decide if they want to spend their time on the bench. A Coach should definitely let his players know what's going on and why. I totally agree. I a...

Sorry - Didn't mean to hurt anybody's feelings! I would imagine he has no varsity letters, since he didn't play enough his senior year to get one. I didn't know he was lazy kid. I've been to every game and he seemed to play as hard as anyone out there when he got the chance. Looking at the varsity l...

Did I say "great" player? My mistake. I thought I said "decent." And, I think he'd have been happy with 9-12 minutes playing time. He's not my kid. I was just an observer that wondered why he was being overlooked. And, I do think it's humiliating to be the only 4 year player on t...

Whoa! ARe you kidding me???? Who quit??? Who wouldn't quit . . .if they'd put their time in for 4 years and been a respectable player??? Why would you sit on the bench game after game while freshman, juniors, etc. played ahead of you. OK, so they played ahead of you, but played MOSt of the game and ...

RV lost. Good game until halftime. Once again the coaches seem to have a hard time getting the right 5 on the court at the same time. It seems like they forget when they take people out and let them sit for extended periods of time. Correct me if I'm wrong about the following observation. When you t...

Now, Now. Lets all be friends. I think it is funny that posts and threads are deleted. The game last night at Rock Hill proved that it takes a team to win. Whats up with fouling # 0 everytime she had the ball. I think if I was the coach I would have forced her to give the ball up and foul someone el...

Get over it, Egg fan! These are his glory days! Enjoy! Watch the film. I have. oops Now, Watergirls, you have to realize that new coaches are trying to build a program regardless of "dedication". The girls' game last night proved that the underclassmen are perfectly capable of making the s...
