Re: Head Wrestling Coach Interview
Well, I thought that was understood. Why would a guy apply if he didn't know anything about wrestling? My point was that they are not going to sit there and ask a guy how good he was when he wrestled. But since you know so much about how to interview wrestling coaches, maybe you should enlighten us ...

Re: Head Wrestling Coach Interview
The main question will be on your philosophy about cutting weight. Otherwise, most schools in the area are less interested in you binging an Olympic champion and more on your ethics and moral positions positions regarding the sport and working with kids. In other words, a guy could have been a four-...

Re: Are consolidations the answer?
It will be interesting to see if Warren's levy proposal for new school buildings passes in the next couple of weeks. I wish them nothing but the best. It would be a waste of money and facilities, if this would pass, and a few years down the road consolidation would occur. I'm sure that the voters ar...

Re: Thoughts on Warren Football Season
How would a xc runner know how much a helmet, shoulder pads, hip, butt, thigh, and knee pads weigh? Helmets are A LOT lighter than they used to be, but I will tell you those items weigh more than 4-6 pounds. Also, football cleats are at least 13-14 oz, if not closer to a pound.

Re: Are consolidations the answer?
To add to what Virginia does. The state sends a person, or a team of assessors into a county and come up with a plan to best serve the kids and community. If that means consolidation, so be it. If it means building new buildings, so be it. The community will be taxed accordingly, there is no vote. D...

Re: Athens Wrestlers to State
Don't forget Eric Chevalier from Belpre. State champ in '96. Belpre has had two Runner ups as well. Coach Scott Adams and Scott Gilbert. Gilbert lost 9-8 in 1995, but Adams unfortunately got Mark Zimmer (4-time state champ).
Re: Wrestling
Of course they cheat. But they do it legally. They recruit a family to move into the school district. This makes it look legal. I'm not saying that these kids can't wrestle when they get there, or they're not getting some of the best coaching when they arrive; because they are. I'm just saying that ...

Re: State of Marietta Football?
Must be nice. "What is your role around the house sir? I mow the grass, wash the car, and coach football; but not in that order. My wife makes all the money." What does a varsity football coach clear? Five or six grand. Someone has their priorities waaaay out of whack.

Re: Who wins Seoal and Weight classes?
Weigh-ins began over 24 hours ago and still no results. Come on someone, get it together. Maybe the SEOAL should break into the 21st century and use Baums Page like the TVC. We need instant gratification!

I'm not a teacher or a coach. I have no access to those facilities. We pay them to step up.

Probably. I'm not sure what assistants some fans are asking to be the head guy. Only one of those interviewed for the position the first time.
