which is why until simpson came back his record was so bad. how did that playing 6 footers at center work last year? the team ewing inherited from abbott was better in every position than this years team and yet they sucked, why? p.m. me because this thread should be a celebration of THIS YEARS TEAM.

it depends on which meigs team shows up. if the good meigs goes ironton is in for trouble, if the bad meigs shows it will be ugly. the meigs that played the first 1/2 against nelsonville is hard to beat. there is a ton of talent here and coach simpson is a great coach.

my guess is this will be postponed by weather.

when a bunch of teens are insulting a person's date then they ought to be told to shut up. i did not see anything so i withhold judgement but meigs winning has nothing to do with it. if it did vinton would have a lousy rep and that just ain't true.

i was there and the only thing i saw, was the fairland coach get a technical on a disputed call near the end of the game. other than that, and that was not much, the fans was great on BOTH SIDES. great game!

i hope for the kids sake that they win. the climb back up starts with 1 win. this is a great group of kids and they are putting their hearts into representing meigs. get behind them!

eastern has a coach and team who are 100% on the same page. the coach knows basketball and the kids seem to know it. they would run thru a brick wall if he told them too. meigs' has not achieved that level of trust between the kids and the coach. frankly he does not trust his kids and they do not tr...

hardwood i hope they go 21-0. these kids are great. i do not want to argue this year.

witness i was not there so i really only have 2nd hand knowledge but the last time i checked the kids are the team. so if most of the kids did not play i am sure that no one named "team" actually was there. as i say this did not make the papers, no lettermen knew about it or they are sworn...

witness the kids i talked to said they have not done anything this summer.

coaching involves teaching kids how to react. granted talent has to be there but coaching involves harnessing that talent. without talent coaching is useless but without coaching talent is also useless. what i think is a huge problem right now is the lack of respect that meigs coaching staff has wit...

if they teach the kids how to be a point guard, then they will have 1. if they go on putting the kid with the flashest style( but little talent) they won't. that is when coaching is important. what we need more than anything is a way to convince kids to play when they are seniors instead of quitting...

meigs COULD be very good this year. they have a 10th grader who is 6'8" and some excellent front court players to go with cameron b. if they can find a point guard they may be really good. hopefully the tvc will see a new outlook in rocksprings.

i do not know what the problem is myself. there is talent for basketball here. just does not seem to make it on the court. clearly there are no other meigs posters on here, lack of interest?

does anyone have any idea what is happening at meigs? i have heard lots of rumors but nothing concrete.
btw meigs lost 4 starters and several 6th men.next year they will be even younger and have less experience... but the same coach.
