Re: What does Gallia Co. football need?
Perhaps the salvation of RV football will be that if you go there and if you are decent, then you will play. The question becomes; Would you rather play on a down team or sit the bench on an up team. I think that most would rather play given the choice. One thing that few can say is that they went t...

Re: Coaches Salaries
Most coaching supplementals are in the range mentioned. Sometimes, to sweeten the pot, supplementals are stacked to allow higher salaries. For example: a head coach gets seperate contracts for coaching, open gym, weight room, partial AD, etc. I am not sure how much boosters can donate towards salary...

Re: What would you do?
Thanks folks. This is great information. I hope that it helps the programs in need of some adjustment. There is enough material to get started rebuilding if the advice is studied carefully and initiated. BTW, have any systems incorporated a group of tutors from the student body to help those academi...

Re: What would you do?
There appear to be two common threads:
1. Commanding respect rather than demanding respect
2. Weight training & conditioning
Good stuff, if there is more, keep it coming.

I mean to get players from within your own school who for whatever reason aren't playing.

What would you do?
If you had a team that was historically at the bottom of the barrel consistently and you wanted to start fresh and build a program, what would you do between now and the first game? Starting with the end of the last game of the season and including recruiting, conditioning, camps, etc. There are a l...

"There are many schools that would love that type of success and improvement in their team."
You are absolutely right Da Bears and I am enviously from one of them.

Re: D5 - R19: (2) Oak Hill vs. (6) Ridgewood at Lancaster
I don't know anything about the "system", the coaches or last year for that matter but I do recognize quality when I see it and Oak Hill has it. I would assume that those calling for change were from within the Oak Hill community itself, not outside observers.

Re: D5 - R19: (2) Oak Hill vs. (6) Ridgewood at Lancaster
Da Bears: I have said it all year. I realize that RV wasn't much of a challenge this year but after watching them play there, I knew that no one else we had seen was as good as OH. They have great strength and size and their coach seems to be able to control them like they are wearing shock collars....

Re: Infield mix
Thank you Viking, I appreciate the help. His school is Symmes Valley and he was great to work with. The Indian Summer is still making it possible to screen although I posted earlier that we were done. If you need anything, let me know. As long as the rains hold off, we will be able to make infield m...

Re: D5 - Region 19: (#7) Coal Grove at (#2) Oak Hill
I have seen both play and I think that OH's defensive line makes the difference. I had heard that their nose guard was no longer on the team. He was an animal. If that is the case, I don't know but nonetheless, I think Oak Hill wins in a squeaker. I heard that he got kicked off the team because he ...

Re: D5 - Region 19: (#7) Coal Grove at (#2) Oak Hill
Whatever the reason, I hope that it can get straightened out by next season. I believe that he is only a sophomore and he has tons of strength, talent and potential. It would be too bad if this was the last season he chose to play.

I apologize for the error. Regardless, it is enjoyable to go to RH. I think that they are a very classy organization and always feel welcome there whatever the situation.

Re: Infield mix
I received no responses regarding any further need for sand this year. We are shutting down production of this particular product with the filling of our existing order. If anyone anticipates a need in the Spring, please let me know at your earliest convenience. We just supplied material to Oak Hill...

Re: River Valley @ Rock Hill
Actually, it almost looked like RV was going to give CG a little bit of a game early in on Friday night. The ref crew was a new one to RV from Parkersburg and they were really throwing the flags on what was essentially unsportsmanlike conduct by CG. A lot of late hits, etc. I thought that the entire...

Re: OVC Chesapeake (1-6; 0-2) @ River Valley (1-6; 0-2)
ND You could probably count on one hand the non-staff people that have taken in more RV games, particularly home games, or been more involved in the program than I have over the past 10+ years. I agree that in the past, both the offensive and defensive schemes have been very uncreative but as I said...

Re: OVC Chesapeake (1-6; 0-2) @ River Valley (1-6; 0-2)
As I watched the game last night, I came to a conclusion. I told my friend that they play like a good JV team. I was not insulting them, merely stating what I observed. He replied "They are a JV team". He was referring to the lack of age and experience. I thought about this a great deal th...
