Re: Division VII State Championship Waterford vs Fort Loramie

Waterford up 40-33 at end of third. This one is going down to the final whistle. Everytime FL looks like their pressure and their top player are going to take over the game Waterford makes a play.

Re: CC courses

Marietta runs at the Broughton Nature Area. True cross country course, many hills. Tough early in the season with the heat. More and more teams it seems want to run at flat courses to get better individual times on their resume.

Re: Meigs at Marietti 1/20

The fact is very few folks besides parents care about Marietta sports anymore. The Logan’s, Ironton’s, Fort Frye and Waterford have entire communities that pack the stadiums and gyms for school sports. Marietta had that years ago, but no longer unfortunately. We have 600 less students than we did 10...

Re: DIVISION II - DISTRICT TOURNAMENT - SOUTHEASTERN

Over the last few weeks, with and without Dawson, Marietta has been hard to predict from game to game. Very, very up and down. Against Warren they seemed to get back in sync a bit with having Dawson in the line up. Their weakness, from what I've seen, is the same as their strength. Dawson can be suc...

Re: Wednesday scores: 1/30

Mhs95_06, I've seen Marietta a couple of times this year, both with and without Dawson, and I honestly can't figure this team out. I've seem them look good with and without her, and bad. You know them well, what kind of team are they and how far can they go? Is it chemistry, are they under or over a...

Re: Monday night scores: 1/14

What happened to Dawson? I understand that in the 4th qtr at Waterford she went down and in trying to break her fall with her right hand, her hand got broken. She went on to play into overtime before she fouled out with the Tigers in the lead.[/quote] Thanks Mhs, and I always appreciate your recaps...

Re: Monday night scores: 1/14

Wheeling Park 8 24 18 15 -- 65 Marietta........9 13 11 7 -- 40 In their first game without Erica Dawson, the Tigers played a very game game, but the trey shooting of the Robb girls(6) and Emily Puskarich(5), many from Dawson-like range, took over after Wheeling Park spotted Marietta a 6-0 lead as t...

Re: SEOAL Meet

The Jackson athlete's performance was phenominal. Not being all league doesn't diminsh that at all. We know that all league in football, basketball, soccer and other sports can sometimes be dependent upon things that the athlete can't control. In track and cross country it's determined by the athlet...

Re: Drug Testing

Marietta began this school year and yes it has had a couple of bumps. It is only for extracurriculars, as those are privileges. There has been at least one false positive, and like every small town nothing is completely confidential. I believe every athlete has to have a test at the beginning of the...

Re: 2010 SEOAL

Season opener at the Broughton Memorial had some great performances. P Adkins will be on a podium in Columbus later this year, and H Richards of Warren is healthy and fast. Warren boys are strong and deep. Results are on Baums, but Warren boys won by about 10 over Marietta, and Marietta girls by abo...

Re: SEOAL Predictions--Boys and Girls

It was great to have up to the minute electronic scoring so that the back and forth between the Chilly and Marietta girls made for an exciting event that had the whole stadium on the edge of their seats. I think Chilly had an 8 point lead until the 3200, the next to last event. It was like that all ...

Noreply66, I thought it was interesting and good to see the great performances of all the kids in our area highlighted in your post. Thanks for all the time you spend putting this together during the year. It is appreciated.
