I heard two names today that applied and not even interviewed. Both of them should have been. Sounds to me like the AD and principal are keeping qualified candidates out of the process for reasons they should be held accountable for.

Good article on Pendleton. Definitely shows he has the ability to fight through adversity. I'd say Ironton would be wise to give him a shot. No harm in trying. May turn out to be great hire.

Fairview is in dire straits financially. A recent article in the Daily Independent indicated they may need to consolidate if they cannot raise enough in property taxes. They are already losing students and in KY, the dollars follow the student. If it is offered to Ray, he will likely take it.

You can also put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig. Changing the environment or appearance is not going to do one thing to revive a failing program

Just because Spartan stadium has been abandoned does not mean the Tank should be too.

The Burg stadium was not historic. The Tank and Spartan Stadiums are. A change of venue will do nothing to improve the Tiger program.

I'm happy for Coal Grove. Rock Hill too. They gave young coaches an opportunity and they took it and ran with it. I wish them nothing but continued success

Drop football and let the kids go to Rock Hill or Coal Grove. They have good young coaches and an enthusiastic bunch of athletes.

Not sure what "leverage" Salmons could use at Cabel Midland. In West Virginia the legislature sets the salary schedule and coaches don't get paid much (like $3,500 for head coach). So, a teacher and coach in Ohio make much more than one in West Virginia. Then that may well be a good reaso...

Luke Salmons is known to have left more than one school at the alter. FYI, he has interviewed for other jobs while at Midland in the past, including another school other than Ironton this year, and once receiving an offer, turned them down. If they don't fix this now, IHS football and other programs could go by way of the city. A disaster.
