Someone needs to show those refs the difference between a foul and defense.

Re: Coal Grove vs Chesapeake---Friday Dec. 17
Never said it was a state rule, but it IS a rule for both Chesapeake and Coal Grove (which is what this topic is about). If you've got a problem with it, sorry. Rules are rules, and they're there for the safety of everyone. Obviously, the weather today is still bad and many roads are still in terrib...

Re: Coal Grove vs Chesapeake---Friday Dec. 17
Yes it IS a rule. Trust me, I played under it for several years, and we never broke it. I don't know the exact wording of the rule, but I do know that teams can play Saturday if both teams think the roads are alright. There were times when we couldn't play on Saturday because the roads were still to...

Re: Coal Grove vs Chesapeake---Friday Dec. 17
There is a no school no play rule. Just ask the AD. When you live in a place like southern Ohio, not every kid lives in a neighborhood right off the highway or a nice, cleared off road. It's the safest choice for everyone--players and fans.

They made it farther than Piketon
Final 4 is a "finalist" in my book.

Kennedy already looks much improved from last season, as do many of the Chesapeake players. I think it's going to be another exciting season :D

Re: Running Up the Score: When is Enough Enough?
Pressing when you're up by a lot isn't doing your starters any favor but making them think they can do that to any team. They're not really learning anything. The team they're beating obviously can't handle the press, so they're not doing any more than the 2nd string could do in practice. Coaches do...

Get addresses from the kids and send out letters. You'd be surprised what you actually get back.

To anyone who believes that the coaches are present but not giving instruction, I'd love to sell you my beach front property! I got some ocean front property in Arizona. From my front porch you can see the sea. I got some ocean front property in Arizona. If you'll buy that, I'll throw the golden ga...

Re: Top 5 Coaches in Southern Ohio
I still don't get why longevity has so much to do with it. All coaches have to start somewhere, so why not be a good one from the start? Davis coached at Chesapeake for 3 years and took his team somewhere Persin (or any other coaches) never did. I think that shows that he knows what he's doing good ...

Re: Top 5 Coaches in Southern Ohio
I do think Coach Davis deserves to be on the list. The year (or part of) Reed coached, the team was terrible, and they had plenty of talent. He just didn't know what to do with it. When Davis came, he turned the program arround pretty much immediately and hasn't looked back. Yes they've got tons of ...

Re: Fairland dragons basketball 2010-2011
January 13, 2010 Chesapeake-63 Fairland-48 Not 20, but 15 is close enough. Fairland won the 1st quarter 22-10, but only scored 26 the rest of the game. Besides that first quarter, the panthers completely dominated. February 12, 2010 Chesapeake-67 Fairland-55 Again, Fariland won the first quarter eas...

Re: TOUGHEST BASKETBALL SCHEDULE IN SOUTHEAST OHIO
Huntington Prep is a prep school and plays basically all prep schools. I don't know why they're playing Ironton, but they don't normally play regular high school teams. They played Rio's jv the other day and I'm sure they beat them pretty easily. These are D1 prospects, so playing NAIA teams aren't ...

Re: OVC 2010-11
Anyone can score if they want
Give the kid a chance to at least play a game or two before you start making those assumptions. I don't know the kid, but more scorers means more points for us! I don't care who's scoring as long as we're winning.

Re: OVC Championship: Coal Grove @ Chesapeake
I'm not talking smack to anyone. I'm glad CG made it to week 11. But I would much rather have that conference title and the jug sitting in my trophy case than playing another week and getting beat pretty handily. That's just my opinion and I'm not speaking for anyone else. Now Peake can go get ready...
