Re: Blocking Field Goals...

AGAIN, "EXCEPTION: A K player may bat toward his own goal line ...... and may also bat toward his own goal line a scrimmage kick in flight beyond the neutral zone, if no R player is in position to catch that ball.".
If you would like to learn the rules, we teach classes starting in July.

Re: Blocking Field Goals...

Eagledad, There is no support in the rule book or case book for your interpretation for the blocking of a field goal try to be illegal in high school football. Since the rules allow batting a scrimmage kick by the licking team backwards to one's own goal line (with restrictions), nothing prevents th...

Re: Blocking Field Goals...

eagledad, be careful here when quoting rules. There is an exception to the rule that you missed. EXCEPTION: A K player may bat toward his own goal line ...... and may also bat toward his own goal line a scrimmage kick in flight beyond the neutral zone, if no R player is in position to catch that bal...

Re: Rules question...

I have to correct something I said earlier. If a defensive player reaches through the out of bounds line and makes contact with the (thrower inner), it is an intentional foul. The team taking the ball out of bounds will be given 2 shots and the ball out of bounds at the spot where the violation occ...

Re: Ironton @ Manchester 2/11

We played with 3 starters not playing. Carter didn't play the second half for one, because he slammed the ball. Then disrespected coach Lafon after being benched. Coach sticks to his guns..doesn't care to loose if he proves his point. Congrats to Manchester, but IMO at full strength we win by 15-20...

Re: Ironton 69 Peebles 68 in 2OT

Very good info! Is this the same definition that is to be used on whether to count the basket on a charging foul, whether a foot has touched the floor before contact? If so, is that what was changed years ago to make them almost never count the basket, the changing of the judgement point from when ...

Re: Ironton 69 Peebles 68 in 2OT

Can someone explain the block/charge call. If it was a charge, then why did the points count? If it was a block and the shot counted then why wasn't it and one? Could it have been an ego call between two officials? Another question. Do the officials confer ahead of time and agree not to call the ga...

Re: Western vs. East

Western won by 6...two key moments in the game was a charge that was called a block against East which turned the momentum, and then also a Technical foul in which East didn't make the free throws and failed to score again once they got the ball back. Would love to see these two meet again in the t...

It is called Unsportsmanlike Conduct. 15 yard penalty.

Which was given.

This should be a dead all personal foul with a ejection.
