Re: TOP FRESHMENS IN SVC, SOC?
Kyle Auger from Portsmouth West SHOULD see some varsity time this year...there are some good young athletes coming into that school.

Re: Minford 08-09
I'm not a recent Minford grad and I think Copley is the third best coach in the SOC behind the two legends at Burg and Oak Hill. How I'd rate the coaches: 1. Burg 2. Oak Hill 3. Minford 4. South Webster 5. Northwest 6. West 7. Waverly 8. Valley I'd expect the final standings to go something similar ...

Re: Shawnee State Volleyball
GO BEARS!!! (until basketball season, when I will be wearing my Shawnee shirt for the girls and my UNOH shirt for the boys!!) Haha. The girls b-ball team is LOADED this year. As for volleyball, the team is now 33-2 on the year and 9-2 in conference play. They host Rio Grande Tuesday with just three...

Re: Portsmouth West 08-09
Jason Smith is a young-ish coach who has been at Greenup County the last few years. He's been an assistant and interim head coach. I've met Coach Smith and (much to Jumper's chagrin) he was the BEST candidate for this job from the names I've heard. From what I'm hearing from players and parents, thi...

Re: Grove City Christian 96, Manchester 20
Manchester has previously had a second half running clock this year. I don't know why they didn't do it this time except maybe wanting to have as much time as possible to score some points for the home fans.

Re: Ranking the area teams since the PDT won't, after week 7
This ranking is to fill the void left by the Portsmouth Daily Times, and will include all SOC teams and the SEOAL SOUTH. If your life is affected THAT much by not seeing one person's opinion in a publication, then I feel bad for what your life must be like. No major complaints about your rankings t...

Re: Shawnee State Volleyball
Watching the Mt. Vernon game, this team could be destined for big things. They were down 2-0 to a team that was nationally ranked a couple weeks ago, and was out for blood after SSU beat them at their place. But the team rallied to win three straight sets and knock off Mt. Vernon. I was highly impre...

Re: PORTSMOUTH DAILY TIMES coverage
What qualifies you to have an opinion about that, boogerred? Huh? Maybe seeing newspapers in the past? Or maybe he's had a basic journalism or layout class where they discuss front-page layouts. Either way, the new wave of newspapers is to put less text, more pictures, and 4-5 articles on the front...

Re: West hires Smith as next head coach
The now former head coach brought the Senators from a 1-4 start to a 9-6 finish in the 2007-2008 season - a first for the team in well over a decade. I don't understand where they got their numbers from and what the first was. West has been .500 as recent as a few years ago. And the team did not st...

Re: West hires Smith as next head coach
I think it was a good hire. He's young, energetic, committed to building a program, and has big ideas for the West Side. Kudos to the administration for making the right decision!!!

I think if West doesn't really want Kitchen its because he wants to make changes for the betterment of making a program in which they don't have now.West administration just doesn't understand .I'm sure the community does though but the board hires This message paid for by "The Friends of Char...

Re: WEST BASKETBALL
i dont see west hiring outside the school this time. i believe its going to be phillips or kitchen. phillips has coach at west for 9 years and kitchen came to west last year. Hiring either Phillips or Kitchen would be a hire outside the school. Neither works for the district. The fact that Perdas w...
