Re: SEOAL Chillicothe (1-5) @ Gallia Academy (0-6)

2old, I believe winning should be treated the same as end zone celebrations. IMO you should act like you have been there before.

Re: Season Rushing Record at Portsmouth West?

:?: Side question to you West fans. Do you think West can lay claim as "Tailback U" of the SOC II in this decade? They've had some real good runners who would match up well against anyone else in the county other then maybe PHS. Is this a fair and realistic statement? With that many tailb...

GAHS again did not play well for four quarters. They play well enough to win at times but do not sustain it. The tackling was much better, kudos to the coaching staff.

GAHS has still not played well for four quarters. Made multiple mistakes that turned into a lot of points for Portsmouth.

Re: Students punished for gestures

The young lady in the photo, should be apologized to first and for most. I take it that she was homecoming queen. Should have been a special night for her. The players in the photo have been disciplined, move on and learn from your mistakes. 3 days in school suspension, will they also have to miss ...

Newark Catholic is a great example.... I have attended the State Finals many times and have seen them play... It would be a great example to follow but I do not believe it is possible at GAHS.. Private schools have a great advantage over Public schools in many areas & sports is one of them... E...

Re: Students punished for gestures

I definitly did some stupid things growing up. Some I got caught, some I didn't. When I got caught I was held accountable. These young men were held accountable, many times today people are not. It is over, lets move on.

Thanks for all the comments, now back to the game... here is a quote that sticks out about our season so far...." We have meet the enemy; and he is us ." If we can play a rock solid game, that is no fumbles, dropped passes, or mental mistakes, we can win... We need to score early and not ...

Re: WK 6 (0-5,0-3) Gallia Academy @ (3-2,1-1) Portsmouth SEOAL

I worked for many years in Newark. IMO Newark Catholic is the school to look at to figure out what a 'program' is. Many in that area don't like them at all. Most of that is because of their success. They have won more state playoff games then anyother school in the state. If you are in that area for...

Blue_nd_Gray, The GAHS lineup has many sophs and jrs. The team appears to be improving as the season progresses, which is a sign of good coaching. The jv and frosh teams are being successful. The shortcomings can be worked on. The future looks bright!!

Re: WK 6 (0-5,0-3) Gallia Academy @ (3-2,1-1) Portsmouth SEOAL

By the time you get to the varsity, you are usually a junior or senior. A few sophs start but not the norm. If you havent learned to block and tackle by your junior year, isnt this more an indictment against the entire system all the way back to MFL? It should be assumed that by the time the varsit...

Re: WK 6 (0-5,0-3) Gallia Academy @ (3-2,1-1) Portsmouth SEOAL

Gallipolis' line needs to improve its blocking technique. GAHS backs are getting killed because of the lack of blocking. Once they start blocking, things will improve. Blocking on Offense and tackling on Defense, we do neither well.If we lose this game I see 0-10 as a reality, simply no excuse for i...

Re: Week 5 Gallia Academy @ Jackson

Jackson was impressive tonight on both sides. Mainly the O and D line impressed me the most in some cases jackson was giving up a lot of size to Gallia's D line but jackson did a good job keeping and staying with their block...Does anyone know where any pictures of this game is? Jackson's lineplay ...

Re: WK 6 (0-5,0-3) Gallia Academy @ (3-2,1-1) Portsmouth SEOAL

GAHS has been unable to put four quarters together. They played well against Ironton and Logan early in the game and then fell apart. Against Hillsboro and Jackson they were behind by 14 points early and then played well in the second half. They need to put four quarters together, to post a win. Th...
