Football toughness vs athleticism

Some years back I started a thread on this topic. There is no argument from anyone that both in an athlete is the ideal circumstance. After OSU's national championship with a third team quarterback I think its time to revisit this issue. Braxton Miller is undoubtedly the OSU QB with the most athleti...

Re: Semper Fidelis All American Game

Even if the opponent was so weak (maybe Cleveland Glenville vs Zanesville Rosecrans every Friday for the season) 63 TD's and 2 Int's is impressive. 6 TD's in the state championship game when your line is getting dominated is also impressive.

Re: D3 State final Athens vs Toledo Central Catholic Thurs 7

I have a perspective on this game that no one else has mentioned. Many coaches mention the importance of special teams. Both teams scored eight TD's, the four point difference came from special teams. If the special teams were equal, those two teams may still be playing in OT. I am not trying to sin...

Re: Private schools/Public schools/open enrollment public

I worked in Newark during NC's domination of small school football in Ohio. JD Graham took that program to a pinnacle that few teams reach. The present NC coaches father was a co-worker and friend. Another friend and co-worker had a grandson that was a very good athlete at Newark Hi. He sustained an...

Re: Will pay to participate kill high school sports?

Our economy is still not doing well. Wages are stagnant at best. Parents laying out $ for a student to set the bench will become the exception to the rule and probably will keep some starters off the roster. An improving economy would help that situation.

Re: Joey Burrow commits to Ohio State

Just read that OSU has given up on Gibson and that JB will probably be the only QB taken in the 2015 class.

Re: Joey Burrow commits to Ohio State

My first time to observe a JB game was when he was a sophomore. I have been a fan every since. I was very happy that he committed to OSU. Regardless of who his competition for QB at OSU will be, they will be some of the best QB's in the country. Taking it one year at a time, I hope he has a healthy ...

Re: Logan Football 2013

I am not for nor against either Logan or Lancaster. I chose this game mostly to see the OSU commit. My observations....Lancaster came out with what appeared to me as a "here we are so we win attitude'. If you take away one long run by Lancaster and a Logan fumble near their own goal, the score ...

Its a ten minute drive to this game for me. Think I'll check it out. The OSU recruit for the Gales draws me to this game.

I am guessing the lack of enthusiasm for GAHS on this site has something to do with the young new coach. Lets give him a chance.

Re: GAHS FOOTBALL 2013

My grandson played for coach Eddy. He paid coach Eddy a compliment when he said that he hoped his younger brother had the opportunity to play for him. How the players feel about a coach tells me more than reading a forum such as this one.

Re: WEEK 13 Athens vs Thurgood Marshall

I watched Pick N and Moeller, then TM and Bellevue on TV last night. Bellevue won with superior coaching. In the 3rd quarter the announcers stated that TM had ran 40 more plays than Bellevue. Bellevue could not stop TM but did not give up the home run plays. The nail in TM's coffin was the kicking g...

Hoping for a GAHS win, but not betting the ranch on it. Looking for Gragg to have a big game. Should be a great game for Williams to show his D1 potential.

Re: 11-2-12 BLOOM CARROLL @ IRONTON RD.1

BC has an impressive DE. Don't remember his name or number but he is athletic and intense. He is a little undersized but not tiny. Look for him to have a good game.
