Re: Former Fairland BOE member says "Vote No" on Stadium Levy

Keep in mind, it's not just athletics that use the stadium. Fairland Stadium also hosts the ACS's Relay for Life (or they did when I was in HS just a few years ago), the HS gym classes use it, when we have large events like the Pep Rally for the Chesapeake game where all 4 Fairland schools attend, ...

Re: SEO D1 recuits

Don't forget Div. III! A lot of kids from SE Ohio have gotten the chance to play football and get a good education from the likes of Marietta, Mount Union, John Carroll, Otterbein, Denison, etc.

Re: Former Fairland BOE member says "Vote No" on Stadium Levy

Keep in mind that folks who own multiple rental properties are going to bear the brunt of the tax increase. It may not seem a huge amount, but if your livelihood is based on running a handful of rentals, it adds up quickly. I have no dog in this fight since I don't live in the Fairland district, I'm...

Re: Former Fairland BOE member says "Vote No" on Stadium Levy

From what I understand, most of the new stadiums around SE Ohio were funded with private dollars (donations), not taxpayer money. I know the Ohio School Facilities Commission does not allow its funding to go toward athletic facilities (except for gyms which must also be for educational use). However...

Re: GAHS Proud Moment

bigcatmarietta ... I have no doubt that the Tigers meant no disrespect to the GAHS seniors. The mud-dive was just kids caught up in the thrill of a good, hard-fought win. As for those among the GAHS fans that directed foul language at the Tiger players, I apologize to you and the rest of the Mariett...

Thanks, Locos.
I'm going to try to make up it there next Friday.
I wimped out on going to Chilli because of the rain this week.
Make sure the Logan chamber of commerce takes care of next week's weather for me. LOL

Congratulations Logan!
Five straight SEOAL titles for the Chiefs, if I'm not mistaken.
WOW! Now that's a dynasty and a lot to be proud of!
Good job Logan and good luck in the playoffs.
Will your first playoff game be next Friday or Saturday? I know you get a home game.

Anybody know what the field conditions are like at Chillicothe today? Judging from the current radar picture, Chilli's smack dab in the middle of a pretty big storm system.

I thought GG was going to be live from East Shade River Stadium for the Eastern-Southern tilt!!!!!
(just kidding)
Seriously, congratulations to both the Cavs and Chiefs on fantastic seasons.
Two great teams going head-to-head equals a big win for the fans in attendance.

Re: ALRIGHT IT'S THE LAST WEEK OF THE YEAR.

I always enjoy going to Jackson and Warren. Great hospitality at both stadiums. Warren always had the best pressbox food in the SEOAL when Dave Fouse was the AD there. Home-cooked spread every time! Anybody know where he is now? I know he retired a few years back. He always treated visiting media ve...

Re: HOW MANY SCHOOLS HAVE A WEIGHT LIFTING"PHYS ED CLASS"

[quote="KarlAgathon"]Does having an in-school weight training class make the team better or does it just demonstrate that a school district has policies that are very supportive of football and athletics in general? The latter. You can lift weights all you want, but if you don't have quali...

Re: WK 10 Rock Hill @ River Valley

Karl...great post! That's exactly why NUMBERS are so important, especially in football. The more bodies you have to throw out on the field at the opposition, the more likely you are to wear them down. Granted, those bodies have to be able to play or at least be willing to sell out for the team. By a...

Re: Game of Week #4 Chillicothe vs. #1 Logan SEOAL Championship

Witness Protection, as you come through Chilly use the Rt. 35 bypass. Take the High St./104 exit and turn left into town, (if you go by the prisons you've turned the wrong way!!). South on High to Arch St., go right (West). Herrnstein Field is on the right, good luck with parking. Go Cavs!!!! End t...

Re: Game of Week #4 Chillicothe vs. #1 Logan SEOAL Championship

Toss a coin on this one. I'll give Chilli the edge since it's a home game. Good luck to both teams. They're both quality programs. Can someone from Chilli give me directions to the stadium? I'll be coming from Gallipolis. I know the general area, but it's been a few years since I've been to Chilli f...

Re: WEEK 9 ~ ZANESVILLE (3-5) @ GALLIA ACADEMY (5-3)

Zanesville looks like a solid team. Hats off to them for the win. GAHS played well, especially on defense. I think Gallipolis' youthfulness showed a bit on offense, but overall it was a good job by the GAHS crew. Our guys played hard and hung in there. We just couldn't take advantage of the Zanesvil...

I'm right there with you, NCF.
The parent company of the local business I used to work for downsized the local operation back in August and my job was one of several cut. I'm still looking. God bless you and your family.
