Re: Belpre's new basketball coach is....
Thornhill is a superb, innovative candidate for this job. It's true that Belpre lacks the numbers or talent that they had when Thornhill was a player, but who better to stick around for awhile to help Belpre rebuild it's program than the hometown hero? Short of Joe Garrett, this is the best person t...

Re: Pay to Play?
I know that when I was a student at Warren, what bugged me was that I did pay to participate: I had to pay for my golf uniform, and all my track sweats, and we had to furnish our own banquets, etc. So...now that all the sports have to pay to participate, does that mean those things are covered in th...

Jeez, what happened to all the other cocky Warren fans!
I'm pumped for the show at the Convo tonight. Let's play hard and smart, Big Blue.

Re: #1 Warren vs #7 Waverly (District semi-finals)
I think my pick in this game is fairly obvious. I'd encourage the Boys in Blue to not take anything lightly...a seed line doesn't mean anything now. You fight for 32 minutes, more if need be, until you win. You play defense and rebound for all 32 minutes. Come out with the fire and passion of a true...

Re: Chillicothe @ Warren 2/11/11
Here's what I know: 1. A family friend works for the Duke Athletic Department...and they don't give away 10% of their tickets to Carolina fans. So folks, be gracious. 2. Warren's gym is by far the smallest in the SEOAL...every other school (except maybe Marietta) has better, more expansive, and newe...

Fivecoait was a good player, a very very good one. But a team with 6 different good players is a stronger team than one with one or two very very good players and the rest average. I think the six golfers mentioned above are all pretty consistent scorers with a desire to improve and be coached, and ...

Re: Warren over Gallia
GAHS4ever, This past school year I was the president of Pep Club at WHS and the leader of our student section. I also serve as the volleyball team's cameraman, and was filming during that game at Gallia. I can't attest for past Warren student sections, but all four years I have been involved, and es...

That she did. Emma threw 125'10" in her last prelim throw, to enter the finals as the top seed.
In finals she threw 125'7" to finish 4th. The winner threw 128'
What a superb run to finish a season! Congrats Emma!

Watch...I'll make you a bet that the Warren coaches are well aware of this and aren't going to take the whole JV team to Chillicothe.
I don't know why everyone is suddenly hating on Big Blue....just because we're winning good games?

Re: Logan Chieftain Stadium Records-B & G
I remember the old stadium track when it was cinders. Broke my arm there hurdling as a freshman. Won the discus in the Mingo Relays as a senior. Lots of memories there in the late 70's. Logan always treated us great (Jackson) Al Riffey was a great coach and very advanced for the day. I run for Ol' ...

Re: Warren Warriors 09-10
That game was insanely long, Warren had the necessary RISP three times in the extras.
well done, Warriors, the defensive effort was spectacular from the 6th inning on. and offensively, well, we won.

I'd look for Logan to take it, considering Warren returns all of its runners except for two. Yeah, Warren, they've got no chance.

That was one windy meet!
People at NY do a great job...except for that one official with the bad gun, having to rerun prelim heats is no fair and no fun. would greatly enjoy a district/regional there as opposed to Washington C.H.

Re: Belpre looking for new head coach
like him or not WHS79, Werry's here to stay. Get over it. I hate to say what I am about to say, but its the honest truth. Belpre SHOULD look at Warren's staff: at assistant coaches Curry Ryan and Steve Denton. They are both class coaches who understand the game and are superb motivators. I know a gi...

Lady Warriors went down 3-1 to Gallia tonight in an extra inning. Want to congratulate the Blue Angels on their SEOAL title.
