Re: Reedsville Eastern's Kasey Turley Gets 1,000th Career Point!
I agree with Pol Pot. It should be separated as she accumulated those points at 2 different schools but in today's society where nothing is set in stone or rules in place everything is OK and fine as long as it's not illegal so let's acknowledge someone for something that didn't take place. The Hugg...

Re: 2009-2010 Bowl Game TV Ratings
It's been this way for years. Any Big Ten teams are going to draw more people to the tube because the Midwest is infatuated with college football, period. Other parts of the country could care less other than their in state teams, especially down south and out west. Alabama, USC, Texas etc. fans cou...

"Huggy Bear" definitely outcoached Mr. Matta in the second half.

Re: Northland VS Oak Hill Academy
Northland this last couple of years, Brookhaven and Beechcroft before that. All these schools are in close proximity (all within 3 to 5 miles of each other) in the Morse road area of Columbus and half the kids on all the teams just migrate to the school that's winning at that time with no true loyal...

Re: Norm Persin named National Coach of the Year
I agree with "stopsigns" couple of posts but agree with others too, why not pat a coach from Southeastern Ohio on the back when we can because city public schools and catholic schools do these kind of things all the time with no repercussions. As far as OHSAA patrolling and not finding any...

Re: WHO BELIEVES STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS SHOULD BE IN COLUMBUS.
With Columbus now having Huntington Park (In the Arena District) downtown, they could play football games there like they used to at old Cooper Stadium. I know it's truly a baseball field but it has turf and the other venue could be Crew stadium (if some kind of field turf was added). They are only ...

Re: Area recruitment
I can't speak of athens specifically but I think this applies to most schools in our area. The talent needed to play at the next level is great, even the very best on very good teams are not always good enough to play at even just a small NAIA or D-III school. Also guys have to go to combines on th...

Re: WHO BELIEVES STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS SHOULD BE IN COLUMBUS.
I've been going to the finals since 1989 (the last year in the Shoe) up to and including this year. I'll stay home from now on I believe and watch it on TV like most other's are starting to do. After I got home this year I told my wife (who knows nothing about h.s. football) that I wouldn't be going...

Re: Nelsonville York vs Columbus Bishop Ready week 4- 2010
Newark Catholic and Ready in 2010, good upgrade of schedule. Both games are at home so hold serve and many playoff points will come your way even with them being DV and DVI schools because between them they will win 15 or more games next year.

Re: Nelsonville-York vs. Rossford Youth State Championship Game
What type of football is this and what age groups ? Since they played in the Marion Coliseum (of which I am familiar) I guess it is played like the arena league (short fields, sidelines, etc.) ? I've never seen this with what we in and around Columbus call junior (9-10 yrs.) and senior (11-12 yrs.)...

AA-Wayne-27 Frankfort-21 Wayne trailed 21-0 at half!Would have liked to been in the Wayne locker room and heard what was said at the half! They recovered two onside kicks in a row after they score...

Re: AND THEN THERE WERE FOUR (PER DIVISION) ~ STATE SEMIS
After what Mooney did to Steubenville last night, I can't see DeSales staying within three TDs of the Cardinals. I've seen DeSales play Watterson twice this year and they're pretty good, but Heard is the best RB I've seen all year long and the o-line is just dominant. DeSales will give them a game....

Re: AND THEN THERE WERE FOUR (PER DIVISION) ~ STATE SEMIS
We could very easily have all 6 champions as Catholic schools this year. The only 3 exceptions I see that could happen are Glenville winning DI (just because of their ALL-STAR) lineup, Winton Woods in DII (as Mentor moved up from DIII and Woods is loaded with athletes) and Coldwater in DV (because t...

Nelsonville-York (Playoff hosting site)
I've watched a few games there over the last few years, both league and playoffs. Took in both Ironton playoff games this year and have to say there was an improvement between weeks 1 and 2 with the restrooms (portables) that were brought in, a few more bleachers and the police being down on 78 and ...

Congratulatiions coshocton. thanks tigers for a year of wonderful memories...handing your opponent all their points, outside of the ot, sends you home.. great effort both teams... awesome tigers... If Alter won, that is the only thing i can think of as why i would have want to lose. No one will bea...

Kettering Alter vs. Coshocton (Wk 14)
I believe this game will be played @ Hamilton Township where Logan played two weeks ago.
My Prediction: The Knights will be way too much for the Redskins, Alter 35 - Coshocton 7

Same score as last week just reversed in Coshocton's favor. Great game and atmosphere. Kettering Alter beat Clinton-Massie this evening 34-7. I believe the semi-final will be played @ Hamilton Township's field where Logan played two weeks ago. Prediction: Kettering Alter 35 - Coshocton 7.

Re: IRONTON vs COSHOCTON prediction time
Well, here's my prediction and I'll be there to watch the game as I was at the Heath game last week. By the way I took in a great game tonight with Trojan Dave in Gahanna as Marion-Franklin beat Brookhaven 31-24. Here are my thoughts: Ironton beat Heath in OT, Heath lost to a 5-5 DIII Licking Valle...
