August 29 at the New River Valley High School/RIver Valley Middle School.

Race Day Schedule
8:00 a.m. course walk throughs
8:30 coaches meeting in front of River Valley Middle School
9:00 girls’ junior high (3200 meter) race begins
9:30 boys’ junior high (3200 meter) race begins
10:00 girls high school (5000 meter) race begins
10:45 high school boys (5000 meter) race begins.
11:30 awards ceremony

Entry fees:
$10 individual runner
or
$40 dollars per team ($70 maximum for each school)

Prizes
Plaques for First and Second Place Teams

Medals for top 3 finishers in each race

Ribbons for top 20 Finishers in each race

Ed Sayre was a top-notch guy. I had the privilege of getting to know him during my senior year of XC. I'm glad to see them doing this in his honor. Good luck to everyone who attends.

I agree Fuzz, Ed Sayre was a top notch guy. He was my coach, friend, and the one who introduced me to this great sport. I think everyone who knew him will always miss having him around. It's definitely odd to go to River Valley and not see him hanging around there in some fashion. He's in a better place now....and he's probably waiting on me to get up there so we can go on a few runs together cause I'm sure his knee is all healed up now lol.

Good luck with the meet this year and I hope it's a great meet with large attendance. I see that it's changed from the 4k to the 5k for the high school races this year...I'll have to go see what the new course looks like in the near future.

Been pretty good. . . I haven't been running much besides doing the Bear Run and a few other 5ks throughout the year, but I've been plotting my return to the sport. . .

As for it being a good meet, I am hosting it, so what can I say? Of course, I think it's a good meet. The course is challenging, a bonus, and the start finish and a large part of the course is fairly visible to spectators if they are in the right place. I think it's a good meet, sure.

No. Coach isn't letting us run during our season's. Witch rly sux. After cross I'm race walking during track season.
