Warren will also have big numbers and should have good showing in 110/300/800/1600/3200/4x800/discus/ Shot Put/pole vault. Will have a few freshman coming up big.

Portsmouth

4x800.....Sr. Zack Kammler and Cory Porter return from a 3rd place finish in 2012

110H.....Don't see much in the 110 for Portsmouth

100m.....Soph Darion Robinson returns with the fastest time from 2012

4x200.....Robinson and Sr. Trevon Lofton are the only returns from a 2012 finish of 4th

Portsmouth just might be at the bottom of the league this season. Kammler looks to be the one that will carry Portsmouth along with Soph Robinson. Don't see much coming up from the middle school but then they didn't come to the league meet. Portsmouth have the people if they can get them to go out.

Portsmouth at first looks like they won't have much depth but with a new track i see them getting a lot more boys out for track. Jr high is a hard thing to call with not being at the league meet but like i said with the new track you just might see some talented freshmen.

Logan

300h.....Graham the 300 winner from last year returns along with Maniskus and Fridley

800.....Lawson has the 3rd best time from the league meet returning but freshmen Myers and Cordle just might be Logan's top two

3200.....Brooks and Lawson can be in the top 8

4x400....Nick Kost, Justin Doyle Josh Vermillion return from a 2nd place finish in 2012-Freshman Myers should have no problem being the 4th man with freshman Cordle being able to step in.

High Jump-----#1 and 2 return from 2012 Fridley and vermillion with freshman Boals adding depth

Long Jump.....Stevens, Sheets and Fridley all jump over 20 feet with Cox and Azbell at 19 feet

Logan will be strong in the 4x100,4x200,4x400 110h, 100m.400, 300h, 200, High Jump, Long Jump and Pole Vault---800 discus and Shot put can be strong if freshmen and last year injuries can come back--the weak spots will be the 1600 and 3200 along with the 4x800 --the 1600 and 3200 have two runners that can be in the top six and the 4x800 has a great chance to be #2---Logan once again has a chance to pt 175 or better points in the books

Shot Put.....Emerson, Branson, Myers

Logan will once again have big numbers to pick from. Won't be as strong in the 800/1600/3200/Discus and Shot but could have two boys in the top 6 in each. Should get about six boys from last years middle school that will be heard from.

Jackson

Discus.....Ewing, Humphreys

Jackson has the numbers until it comes to the field events. It does look like the Ironmen could have competitive relays. Should have some help from the middle school coming up.

Gallipolis

4x800.....Sr. Blake Wilson, Soph Tony Easton, Jr. Winston Wade return from a #5 finish in 2012

110.....Jacob Click has the 4th best time coming back from 2012 along with Quenton McKinniss with the 7th best time coming back from the league meet.

100m.....Soph Aaron Fairchild brings back the 4th best time from the league meet.Logan, Johnson and freshman Jerrell will add depth.

4x200....Gallipolis finished 6th at the league and return Logan and A. Fairchild-[dropped baton]

1600.....Soph. Michael Edelman returns with the 4th best time going back along with Ryan Valley's 7th best time. Warner could add depth

4x100.....Logan is the only return from a 1st place last year--Fairchild should step in here

300.....Warren may be the only one having a chance to pick up points here

800.....Winston Wade has the 4th best time coming back with Wilson helping out

200.....Only one I see getting points here is A. Fairchild if injury free it could be some big ones

3200.....The 4th best time from last year league is Edelman and Valley has the 6th best time.

4x400.....Logan, Wilson and Wade could help put some big points in the book

Discus.....Barr is the only one i see here

Long Jump.....Allison will be in the thick of things

Shot Put.....Barr is the best bet here

Pole Vault.....Joel Craft is the 5th best returning and McKinniss is the 7th--Tawney could break through

Gallipolis will be small in numbers with a couple freshmen helping out. Gallipolis has a chance to do well in the relays. They have people to compete in the 800, 1600 and 3200-- outside the long jump i don't see them doing too much in the field events--They could do good in the 100/200 if Fairchild returns to his middle school days.

Gallipolis depth chart

100.....Logan, A. Fairchild, Johnson, Allison

110.....Click, McKinniss

200.....A Fairchild, Johnson, Click, Allison

300......Warner, Click, McKiniss

400.....Allison. Warner, Johnson, Easton, Wilson

800.....Wade, Wilson, Warner

1600.....Edelman, Warner, Easton, Valley

3200.....Edelman, Valley

4x100.....Allison

4x200.....Johnson

4x400.....Logan, Wade, Johnson

4x800.....Warner, Wilson, Easton, Wade

Discus.....Barr

High Jump.....Allison, Craft

Long Jump.....Allison, Craft

Pole Vault.....Craft, McKiniss, Twaney, Waugh

Shot Put.....Barr

Gallipoilis will get a couple boys from last years 8th grade to help with depth.Allison,Johnson,Warner, Wilson will need to settle on their best four events

Chillicothe

4x800.....All four starters return from a 6th place finish--Mathis, Scharfetter, Bixler, Zook

110.....This will be one of the top events for the Cavs with Trevan Pennington having the fastest time returning but not much depth.

100.....Luke Barnes has the 5th best time coming back from the league meet with Betterndorf helping out.

4x200.....Dalton Betterndorf, Barnes, Jackson and Lee return from a # 3 finish last year.

1600.....Ben Haller has the 2nd best league time going back with Scharndorf and Zook giving some depth

200.....Betterndorf with the 3rd best return time and Johnson with the 6th best will give the Cavs some depth

3200.....The 2nd best time from returners come in Haller. Scharfetter is strong too

4x400.....Lee, Mathis, Pennington and Betterndorf all back from a #3 finish in 2012

Discus.....Valentine looks to be the top thrower here

High Jump.....Curtis barnes looks to be it

Long Jump.....Barnes and Lee

Shot put.....Howard

Pole Vault.....Barnhart and Donahue looks to be the top vaulters here

Chillicothe will do well in the hurdles.relays, 800, 1600, 3200-- the field events just might be the Cavs down fall. The Cavs have about four boys that can do a lot but with only being able to be in 4 events they might get a little thin with depth--highest I see them finishing is 3rd

Chillicothe depth chart

100m.....Barnes, Betterndorf, Curtis, Johnson, Harris, Brown

110h.....Pennington, harris

200m.....Betterndorf, Barnes, Lee, Curtis, Johnson

300h.....Pennington, Harris

400m.....Betterndorf, Mathis, Scharfetter, Bixler

800m.....Mathis, Newsome, Scharfetter, Haller, Parker

1600.....Scharfetter, Haller, Zook, Mathis, Parker

3200.....Haller, Scharfetter, Zook

4x100.....Lee, Barnes, Pennington

4x200.....Mathis, Lee, Barnes

4x400.....Lee, Mathis, Pennington, Betterndorf

4x800.....Mathis, Scharfetter

Discus.....Valentine

High Jump.....Curtis, Barnes

Long Jump.....Lee, Barnes, Harris, Curtis

Pole Vault.....Bixler, Clemmons

Shot Put.....Howard, Clemmons, Valentine, Allen

Unless Chillicothe gets help from the freshmen or more boys going out the depth will be hurting. Four to five boys do more than four events here and there. When it comes down to a meet they can only do four events and this could hurt big time. Some good talent but few.

Portsmouth's fantastic new track is in its finishing stage. I expect the track team will benefit tremendously as the facility will spark a new interest in the program..

Portsmouth hasn't had a track in many years now, resulting in minimal interest. I expect this to change immediately..

Portsmouth Jr High team should be pretty good.
