After three bad weather weekends my top 20 has taken a scramble.

Boys

#20-Fairland number of wins look good, but I don't see big time wins

#19-Nelson/York, not doing as well as I thought but they are improving. They have gone up against some good teams.

#18-Alexander, they have some talent but just haven't jelled.

#17-Jackson, this is another team that I think is a little better. Just have to wait and see.

#16-Whiteoak has some good showings, but it might be over all talent that keeps them from winning the big meets.

#15-Logan Elm has shocked me a bit. Better than I thought

#14-Gallia, dropped down at first but seems to be putting things together and should move up

#13-Waverly, I know there might be some injuries, but their results are not showing up or I'm not getting team results.

#12-McClain, at the start of the season was just out of my top 20 but now looking much better

#11-Paint Valley is another one I looked over and doing very well at this time

#10-Portsmouth has been somewhat of a shock. They might have slipped a bit from last week.

#9-Marietta, is having their ups and downs

#8-Fairfield Union has been making a move up

#7- The last time I saw Chillicothe they didn't looks as good as the first time

#6-Athens is starting to put things together

#5- Zane Trace has been hard to figure out. Are they better on paper than on the track?

#4-Rock Hill seems to be making a big jump

#3- Warren, this team never stops improving as the season goes.

#2- Unioto is sort of hard to figure out. On the track they lack what shows up on paper

#1- Logan, they keep getting past the SEO teams with having to rebuild a couple of relays teams that should have had everyone back from last season and very little in the distance races.

Girls coming up

#1- looks like Fairfield Union still has enough to be #1

#2-Dawson-Bryant is not that far back

#3-Unioto could very well be #2

#4-Circleville is making a move

#5-Warren will climb

#6-Marietta looks like they are finding themselves

#7-Wheelersburg, don't have too much on them

#8-Jackson should move up

#9- Logan Elm Much better than I thought

#10-Chillicothe didn't have a good showing at Logan, but they might have been short a few girls

#11-Eastern R. Looking a lot better from the first of the season

#12-McClain has been doing well

#13- Hillsboro is close to a few above them

#14-North Adams, another team I don't have much on

#15-Logan Has been up against some top teams

#16-Athens is very close to Logan

#17-Zane Trace, also very close

#18-Adena not much on them

#19-Gallia, puzzles me a little

#20-Whiteoak--the last six teams could easily change places

Mahki didn't run the 100 or 200 at Southeastern. He did run relays though.
That's going to happen one or 2 more times this season. Gotta make sure he is healthy for post season.

I ranked these just keeping invitationals in mind. Duals are not a good indicator of a teams true potential at a invitational. You could have a small team but score big at an invitational and never win a dual.

1.Fairfield Union
2.Circleville
3.Unioto
4.Dawson-Bryant
5.Warren
6.Sheridan They have looked very solid at big meets
7.McClain
8.Chillicothe

I know PV's coach has been trying a lot of different combinations in different events. Look for them to really pop as it gets warm.

Warren.....Warren always stays steady. Seems like they never have a down meet.
Chillicothe on the other hand has up and down meets. I really waiting for the districts. Seems like the last few years Chillicothe and Athens have had bad showings at Marietta.

Been doing a few other things lately and have slipped on taking care of track. So, I will probably be catching up the next week or so.

Chillicothe with a great showing at Marietta this year, sending athletes to the Regional in 13 events. Super stiff competition at Pick North though. Both boys and girls absolutely dominated at FAC as well. What started as a shaky season has developed into something stronger.

Hard to compete with the Columbus area teams in any division. New Philadelphia just ran away with the boys at Marietta. NP scored the victory with 183 points and 112 points more than second place Dover. They will be graduating about 111 of the 183. NP had about a half dozen boys finishing 1st or 2nd in several events plus in a few they had two boys finishing near the top in their events. Most of the SEO teams are young this year and should put up a stronger effort in 2023.
