More divisions
More divisions
With the talk about going to more divisions in basketball I would like to see more in track. Too many schools can't put someone in every event and a lot can't put two in every event. When those schools go to a district it is hard to advance as a team. In track Div. I is just like other sports too big a difference between top to bottom.

Agree 100%. 5 kids count as a team in basketball 6 in volleyball correct? and that justifies more divisions; why not 5 girls or 5 boys as a team in track? Stuck with 3 divisions, the disparity top to bottom in each division is ridiculous.

Meanwhile, 9 kids count as a team in track, which is what really hurts and causes these huge districts.Eggsalad44 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 11:52 pm Agree 100%. 5 kids count as a team in basketball 6 in volleyball correct? and that justifies more divisions; why not 5 girls or 5 boys as a team in track? With the way PV hits the Portal, your CB number will keep going up so you will still move up a Division or 2PVBearcat2012 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 10:23 amMeanwhile, 9 kids count as a team in track, which is what really hurts and causes these huge districts.Eggsalad44 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 11:52 pm Agree 100%. 5 kids count as a team in basketball 6 in volleyball correct? and that justifies more divisions; why not 5 girls or 5 boys as a team in track? This doesn't include track and field. Does track not have a voice at the statewide level?

Re: More divisions
We have our track coaches clinic this upcoming weekend so hopefully we can get some more answers about this topic moving forward!Eggsalad44 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2023 4:19 pm https://www.ohsaa.org/news-media/articl ... ral-sports

Not really, since track doesn't bring the $$ like football, basketball and baseball
