Zanesville could put carter in the 800. That could get them 10 more points.

If Carter put more into track it would be interesting to see what he could do.

Being a good basketball player sort of keeps you from that.

One thing though he should be in shape to start track. Hope the whole Ironton team can get to the league meet this year.
Love to see him and Cantley face off in the 800.

Cantley put up one heck of a fight against Carter after running the 1600.

Marietta has distance to help out score Zanesville.

I understand Ironton Prom this year is the week after the league meet.... so that excuse may be out for 2008. But I think the districts will conflict.......for whatever impact that might have on a few

Marc Carter of Ironton finished second in the D2 State meet running a 1:53.18 in the 800m last year. He finished 2nd at State his Sophomore and Junior years. I think he will be back and looking to give it another run at the State title this year.

Good luck Marc.........

He represents the southeast well.

Watch out for Cory Leslie he has already ran 1:55 indoors, but he is most likely running the 1600 before the 800 at state.

what is his p.r. in the 1600?

i'd say a 1:55 indoors would translate to a very good time outdoors

Leslie won DII State this past fall in XC.

Last June he ran 4.08 and change to win the mile - DII. He anchored his teams 4x8 to a win at the state meet as well.

He ran 1:54.6 at state last year placing 5th after running 4:08 almost breaking state record barely 30mins before. It's possible he could break state record in the 1600 and still have enough to win the 800 this year. I want what he is taking.

Well the meet is coming up in a week, what's everyone thinking? I'm taking Warren on the boys side, and on the girls it's really a toss up between Warren, Logan, Marietta, and Gallia.

Boys

Warren will take first and the more I look at things Zanesville might jump in at second followed by Logan and Marietta.

The girls should be a battle with Gallipolis and Marietta. If Gallipolis makes a couple mistakes Marietta will take them.

It will be a fight for 2nd between Logan, Marietta, and Zanesville. The 800 race between Cantley and Carter will be one to watch. The 3200 Weef vs Wilson should also be good.
