Both Jackson's boys and girls move up to Division I this year. The girls are 3 girls over the Division II cut off and the boys not much more probably. Big difference in the competition come the District and the Regional. That really sucks! The SEOAL is one of the toughest throwing leagues in the state. There is good coaching and there are good throwers in that league. It has consistently sent throwers to state over the years Sometimes at league it comes down to who does not let the pressure get to them. I think Greg James will be better in the discus this year and I think his shot will be improved and surprise some people.I believe if he wants to work at it he can throw with the better ones in the league. He has several goals to shoot for one being the school record in the discus which is 163 feet, he has thrown farther in practice so he can do it on the right day. Several younger kids are working hard(both boys and girls) in the weight room and are quite a bit stronger this year. If they can carry the same work ethic over to the technique side of things they will make big improvements this year. Kids have to want to work at it and be the last ones out on the practice field. Be aware of what the coach is pointing out to them and have discipline to take the coaching and they will improve. Sometimes it just comes down to a few faults in technique if they correct one of them the distance will go up for these younger kids.

I beg the differ. There are maybe a couple of better throwers in division I at the state level, but as far as district and regional talk, it is relatively the same.

Charles, you made no point. Year in and year out, the results are relatively the same. All you did was tell me what DI has coming back. Look into what DII and DIII has coming back.
