Marc Carter
Districts - 1st place, 800 2:00 (not same district as Cantley )
Regionals - 1st place, 800 1:56.73
State - 2nd place, 800 1:53

Tyler Cantley
Distictls - 1st place, 1600 4:20
...............1st place, 800 1:59 ( not same district as Carter )
Regional- 1st place, 1600 4:22
..............2nd place, 800 1:56.73
State- 3rd place, 1600 4:17
.........14th place, 800 2:01

Note that, in Regionals Cantley inly lost by .03 seconds to Carter. That was AFTER he ran and won the 1600. Then at State, Cantley ran a 4:17 mile! Even though Cantley did not do as well at State in the 800 as Carter, it is more impressive that Cantley does 2 events. Thats not even counting the 4x800 he went as a team in.

what time did tyler run at state last year in the 800 b/c i still think that carter can beat him any day. i dont see him getting that much fater and beating carter. that kid can run.

Carter does a lot on pure guts.Just like to see what he could do if he trained like Cantley.

5k - Did you not read 4sporters post that you copied in your last response?

The answer to your question is in there.

Cantley/Carter in the 800 (if both are fresh and that is all they are running) is a toss up. I would say if they raced the 800 10 times they would split 5 to 5. Both are fierce competitors and extremely talented.

I will tell you a cool story - At regionals last year, when Carter beat him by 0.03 seconds - Cantley closed a bunch in the last 100 meters, Tyler held his breath so that Carter would not hear him coming from behind.

Yeah, and that was after Cantley ran the Mile. So even when Cantley isn't fresh, looks like he can stay with him.

After a certain time, its a pure guts race for everyone. Thats what seperates the good from the bad. Its whenever your legs feel like they cant go any faster, but your mind overpowers that feeling to make you dig even deeper. All racers at Cantley and CArters caliber races on pure guts and the end of a race.

You mentioned to watch out for certain people in a certain race and someone came back and mention players from a certain team to watchout for in those races, so you left it open to discusion.
