Early Look at the 2022 Track season

Post by noreply66 »

OVC Girls

Starting where they finish the 2021 season.

The Portsmouth girls will return most of their girls that earned points in last years meet. Looks like only in the area of 2.50 points graduated.

South Point is some what like Portsmouth with only 2 points not returning.

Chesapeake will be standing okay going into the 2021 season with all the girls that earned points will return.

Ironton didn't lose too much either with only 10 points graduating

Fairland only lost around 20 points due to graduation

Rock Hill finished third in the conference meet and lost 45 points

Gallia who took second came out well in graduation with only losing 25 points

Dawson-Bryant had a great OVC meet scoring 178 points and lost less than a dozen points to graduation.

Without adding incoming freshmen and other new members to their teams the 2021 finish might finish in this order.

Dawson-Bryant, Gallia will beat out Fairland for second. Chesapeake should get past Ironton for 4th. Rock Hill and South Point could go down to the 4x4 to see what one takes 6th. Unless Portsmouth has a lot of help coming up or move in they will finish the same as 2020.

In the Middle school meet Fairland and Chesapeake sort of ran away from everyone.

OVC Boys

The South Point boys finish at the bottom of the OVC last season and lost about 75% of their 2021 points to graduation.

Fairland didn't do too well last season either. Their graduation took about 50% of last seasons out put.

Chesapeake will come into the 2022 season with almost everything they had last year. They are looking to move up in the top four of the conference.

Ironton will have close to 50% of their output from 2021, but will have to hope to get help from the incoming freshmen or new team members.

Gallia lost nearly half their 2021 points to graduation and might take a big drop this season.

Portsmouth should do well, but will need a lot more to get into the top two with about 80% of 2021 points returning.

Rock Hill who finished in second last season falling to Dawson-Bryant by nearly 20 points will be in a real battle for first place in the OVC.

Dawson-Bryant will finish with 100 plus points in 2022 , but after graduating close to 60 points, can they hold off Rock Hill?

With what will be returning from all eight teams I look for it to go as this.

Rock Hill/Dawson-Bryant winner will be answered in the 4x4.

Portsmouth will finish in third with none of the other teams challenging them for it.

With Chesapeake returning most everyone I can see them jumping into the 4th spot.

Gallia will have to work a little to stay ahead of Ironton for the 5th spot

Don't look for Fairland to move up any

South Point needs a lot of help, but just maybe they could jump ahead of Fairland.

Middles school meet was dominated by Fairland and Ironton

SHAC Girls

Manchester didn't lose much to graduation ,but they didn't have much to start with. There are two other team the Hounds could catch if they can get more girls out to get some depth.

Whiteoak girls lost around six points to graduation, which gives then a near 40 points returning and will keep them out of the basement in the SHAC.

West Union had close to 16 points graduate and that could put them near the bottom come the conference meet.

Peebles was near the top of the second level teams last spring and with only 10 points lost from 2021 could put them 4th with a few breaks.

Lynchburg lost 20 plus points from 2021 and will probably drop them into the lower part of the conference.

Fayetteville lost near 40 points due to graduation and that will also drop then a lot from 2021.

Eastern had 50% of they 2021 points go out the door as seniors. If they fall any it shouldn't be too far.

Fairfield will be good this year with about 85% of their 2021 runner up score coming back.

North Adams didn't lose too many points and once again be very good.

I will go with North Adams winning another SHAC championship with a 15 plus point win over Fairfield.

No other teams in the SHAC will have the depth that North Adams/Fairfield have. This will allow Fairfield get second place over Peebles by at least 40 points.

Eastern, Lynchburg and Whiteoak are three teams that are so close to each other I look for the 4x4 to settle how those three will finish.

Fayetteville and West Union might come down to the 4x4 too.

Only way Manchester moves up is if one of the two above faulter or the up coming freshmen have a lot of input.

In the middle school meet Eastern, North Adams Fayetteville and West Union did well

Shac Boys

Ripley finished at the bottom of the boys conference meet and lost nothing to graduation.

Manchester one out of the basement and also didn't lose any points to graduation.

Eastern lost near 15 points from 2021 and will do about what they did in 2021.

Fayetteville lost a lot of their last spring scoring and could struggle this year.

West Union graduated less than a half dozen points and should move up.

North Adams will do very well this year after graduation only took about 2 points.

Lynchburg lost a lot from 2021 and will at times struggle in 2022.

Fairfield was hit hard by graduation and it will show unless the new ones coming in step up big time. Peebles lost close to 20 points from 2021, but will have plenty coming back

Point wise Whiteoak lost a lot, but they do have plenty to work with.

Whiteoak will have enough returning to take the SHAC boys title over second place Peebles.

Look for North Adams move to the third spot which might be close to 30 points back from the winner

West Union is a solid pick for 4th place

Eastern, Fairfield and Lynchburg will fight for the 5th spot and this might come down to the 4x400

Out of the three remaining schools it looks like Fayetteville will have the best shot at 8th place.

It might be wise for Manchester and Ripley to put a 4x4 team out on the track.

Whiteoak, North Adams West Union came out very good in the MS

SOC Girls

West and Western finished at the bottom of the 2021 SOC meet. Both should have the same team coming back.

Green, Oak Hill, St. Joseph, and Eastern hardly lost anything.

Clay lost about everything from 2021

South Webster only lost six points to graduation

Valley also lost a lot

Can't see where Notre Dame lost anything to graduation.

Minford will bring back about the same girls.

Looks like the Northwest girls lost nearly 30% of their 2021 team

Waverly will have about 60% of the 2021 team return.

Wheelersburg lost close to half their 2021 points

I will go with Waverly for the 2022 season with about a 10 point win over Wheelersburg. Could depend on which team has the best freshmen.

Out of the next three or four teams it looks like Northwest will have enough coming back to finish third again.

With Minford having most everyone back they will take the 4th spot.

Notre Dame looks to have a solid 5th place group and with some depth they could bump Minford.

South Webster and Eastern might come down to the last race.

St. Joseph, Oak Hill, Green and Valley might be too close to call. 4x4 could settle this group.

Clay, Western and West might come down to which ones will score.

Wheelersburg and Minford were the top teams in the MS

SOC Boys

Clay finished at the bottom with not much returning.

West didn't do much better than Clay in 2021 and they lose most of their points to graduation.

New Boston is in the same boat as the last two.

Eastern and South Webster will bring everyone back from 2021

Oak Hill will only have 50% of their 2021 team back

Green lost a lot

Notre dame could move up a spot this spring.

Valley lost 24 points from 2021, but will probably stay in the same spot as 2021

Wheelersburg will return a lot for 2022

Minford will only return about 40% of the 2021 team.

I only see where Waverly lost 1 point to graduation

Northwest lost over 100 points from the 2021 team

With very little lost to graduation I have Waverly boys winning the 2022 SOC title.

Northwest will have enough to beat the others out for second place

Wheelersburg will jump into the 3rd spot

Minford and Valley will come down to the wire.

Notre Dame should beat out South Webster and Eastern for the 6th place.

Oak Hill, Green and West better put a 4x4 team out on the track

Clay and New Boston will need to get on the board.

Wheelersburg and Minford are the top two in the MS

SVC Girls

The Piketon girls finished the 2021 in last in the conference meet. With almost everyone coming back they shouldn't finish at the bottom this year.

Huntington lost close to 65% of their 2021 points to graduation. If no help is coming in they might replace Piketon for last.

Southeastern is another team that lost 50% or for of 2021 points.

Paint Valley could have a good year after only losing near 6 points to graduation.

I don't see where Adena lost anything from the 79 points they mounted up in 2021.

Zane Trace lost close to half the points they scored in 2021 to graduation.

Unioto lost near 60 points from last years team to graduation

Unioto may have lost a lot but they will still bring back enough to out score any other team for first.

Look for Adena to take the number two spot in 2022

Westfall if the freshmen bring help they just might catch Adena

Paint Valley and Zane Trace could just come down to the 4x4

Piketon shouldn't have any problem taking the 6th spot. With a break here and there and a falter from Paint Valley or Zane Trace could allow Piketon to move up even more.

Southeastern looks like they should beat out Huntington to stay from the basement.

Zane Trace, Paint Valley and Adena were the top three in the MS

Boys SVC

Huntington scored some top points and still finished last in the Boys SVC meet. They will have better than half their 2021 points back.

Piketon lost about a third of their points from 2021 to graduation, but looks like they could finish higher than what they did in 2021.

Southeastern only lost 6 points to graduation and should make a strong move to get out of the lower four.

Westfall took a hit when It came to graduation when they lost in the area of 40 points to graduation

Paint Valley will probably fall into the lower four this spring.

Zane Trace will bring back better than 60 points for the 2022 season.

Unioto will be very strong this year with close to 100 point returning

Adena, last years winner lost 70 points to graduation and it looks like they might have some problems keeping the SVC title.

Unioto looks to regain the SVC this spring and shouldn't have anything getting in their way

Zane Trace should move into the second spot come time for the SVC meet.

Adena lost a lot but still should finish strong in the conference and finish number three

Southeastern will join the group of the top four

Paint Valley and Piketon could go at it for the 5th spot

Huntington has a good chance to finish in the 7th spot ahead of Westfall

Unioto, Zane Trace and Adena are the top three in the MS

Girls TVC Ohio

Nelson/York finished at the bottom in 2021 and they will have about everyone back that earned points in 2021.

Meigs will return all of their 2021 points.

Alexander will return in the area of 65% of their points from 2021

Wellston girls have a chance to finish in a good spot for 2022.

River Valley will have a sold team going into the 2022 spring season.

Vinton Cty lost a lot to graduation and good take a big drop.

Athens also lost a lot but they also return a lot.

Athens girls should win the Ohio again in 2022.

River Valley and Wellston will be battling each other all day for 2nd and that could allow how the 4x400 comes out.

Meigs, Alexander and Vinton Cty will be going at each other during the TVC Ohio meet. I think between the three it will come down to how the new kids perform.

Nelson/York could put a better team on the track this year than what show up on paper.

Overall Athens, Alexander, Southern South Gallia and River Valley were the top teams in the MS

TVC Boys Ohio

Meigs didn't show much in 2021. They need a lot of the freshmen to step up this season.

Wellston should return everything this season.

Alexander didn't lose too much

Vinton Cty will have about 50% of their points returning

River Valley is another team with a lot of last years Boys returning.

Nelson/York only lost something like 16 points from their second place finish in 2021.

Probably no other team in SEO lost more than Athens to graduation. Thing is, Athens had some boys that were good but didn't get to show it during the conference meet.

When you look on paper it looks like Nelson/York has near 35 more points going into the 2022 than Athens. Like I mentioned above Athens had a few boys going under the radar that should shine this spring. I look for a real battle for the top spot. If Nelson/York can get a few more runners out and some freshmen come through they will beat the Bulldogs by a narrow margin.

I will give River Valley the edge over Alexander for 3rd.

Vinton Cty should have no problem taking the 5th spot

Looks like Wellston and Meigs will fight for the 6th spot.

Overall in the boys it was South Gallia, Athens, Alexander and Belpre in the MS

TVC Girls Hocking

South Gallia has everything back, but they need a lot of help.

With Southern having everyone coming back I think they will move up

Belpre lost 15 points to graduation and that 15 could make a difference if they stay in the same place or lower.

Trimble will have some good girls performing this year, but will need some other to come through if they want to place higher.

Eastern, Waterford and Federal Hocking will all have solid teams.

Eastern lost a lot from a team that scored a lot in 2021. Waterford and Federal Hocking have most every one back. Neither one of these three can't afford a poor showing or DQs. The 4x400 might tell the story.

Trimble is a solid 4th

Southern looks to have a small edge over Belpre.

South Gallia will need some more horses.

TVC Boys Hocking

Southern finished last in the Hocking and it doesn't look much better for 2022.

South Gallia lost about after their 2021 points to graduation

Federal Hocking didn't lose too much

Trimble lost a couple good boys

Eastern lost just 20 points to graduation

Waterford will be returning a lot of points after graduating 28 points from a team total of 142 in 2021.

Belpre could be hurting in 2022. Close to 75% was lost to graduation.

Looking for Waterford to sort of run away withe the Hocking.

It looks to close to call between Belpre and Eastern

As the girls Trimble looks a solid 4th

Federal Hocking will stay at 5th

South Gallia 6th

Southern 7th

FAC Girls

Washington should return close to 54 points from 2021

2021 fifth place Jackson will return just about everyone.

Miami Trace didn't lose hardy anything to graduation

Hillsboro should return most of their 101 points from 2021

Chillicothe lost close to 31 points to graduation

McClain took the biggest hit in the FAC to graduation.

I lot returns for the whole FAC girls. Chillicothe looks to be the front runner for 2022

Miami Trace will be very good and with a little help they could go head to head with Chillicothe

Jackson also looks very strong. If the freshman can produce they too will compete for the FAC title

Hillsboro will have enough to make things interesting too.

McClain lost a ton but there is still enough returning that could work themselves into the number 2 or three spot.

Washington might look like they are down when looking at the overall FAC but they will puts some points in the books.

Overall the FAC has a lot of talent returning.

Top teams....McClain, Hillsboro, Washington and Miami Trace

FAC Boys

Jackson lost a couple good boys and have a lot returning.

Washington lost close to 50% of the 2021 team.

Hillsboro is a lot like Washington with the boys they lost to graduation.

Miami took in big hit with graduation.

McClain took the biggest hit in the FAC to graduation.

Chillicothe lost a lot too from 2021

Chillicothe looks like they could finish at the top in 2022

Jackson has one of their best teams that I can ever remember. Won't be in the race for the top spot, but 2nd should be were they finish in 2022

Miami Trace should be right on the Ironmen's heals.

McClain, Washington and Hillsboro will go at it to stay out of the basement.

For the FAC the top teams were...Hillsboro, Chillicothe and Jackson

Other Girls

The Circleville girls should have a strong team this coming year after losing only 8 2021 points to graduation.

Fisher Catholic lost 94 points to graduation and will return 70

Fairfield Christian lost near 8 points from 2021 and should return 96

Fairfield Union Will have 74 points returning after 43 went to graduation

Logan lost close to 50% of their 2021 total from the district

Logan Elm graduated 13.75 from 2021 and will return close to 46

Marietta didn't score a lot last year in the district and only have 21.5 coming back

Warren lost 36.5 from the 2021 district and will have 47.5 returning

Mid-State schools are from Conference meets while Logan, Marietta and warren are from their district

Other Boys

Circleville Lost 19 points to graduation and should return close to 34 in 2022

Fisher Catholic Lost 68.5 point from 2021 and still will have close to 130 coming back

Fairfield Christian didn't have anyone that scored in their conference meet go in graduation and will return 56

Fairfield Union lost close to half their total from 2021 and should return 75

Logan lost just 5.25 points to graduation in the district at Marietta

Logan Elm Only have 28 points returning in 2022

Marietta will have 22 points returning

Warren lost 40.5 of their 118 points to graduation

Mis-State....Conference other from their district meet

Very interesting breakdown. I would be interested to see if any new kids come out / any kids are healthier in 2022 than they were in 2021.

Great list thanks a lot of work put into this...

South Gallia lost about after their 2021 points to graduation

Eastern lost just 20 points to graduation

Waterford will be returning a lot of points after graduating 28 points from a team total of 142 in 2021.

Belpre could be hurting in 2022. Close to 75% was lost to graduation.

Looking for Waterford to sort of run away withe the Hocking.

It looks to close to call between Belpre and Eastern

As the girls Trimble looks a solid 4th

Federal Hocking will stay at 5th

South Gallia 6th

Southern 7th

FAC Girls

2021 fifth place Jackson will return just about everyone.

Miami took in big hit with graduation.

The Circleville girls should have a strong team this coming year after losing only 8 2021 points to graduation.
